Shut up honestly, I just woke up and don't need your crap. This was the part I was speaking of an be used without bal/eq
Bricriu2005-05-13 11:26:22
No, I will not shut up, and if you don't want crap, stop ing yourself.
EQ/Balance needed or not, there is an EIGHT SECOND BALANCE to it, where it used to be around 3.

*Mutter* I'm not going to get into a childish insult contest with you. From how Thorgal tells me, it was nerfed and not upgraded. *laughs anyways*

1.7 to 2 for an Aslaran.
Anyway, this topic is about teleport. Please put teleport back. As I've state before, ease of travel is what makes Lusternia unique and different, and makes Lusternia fun, as well as makes it an attractive realm to new players.
Unknown2005-05-13 11:29:47
I think they should get rid of the powercost for teleport, and keep it for summon and tesseract.
Unknown2005-05-13 11:30:41
I do not think this will make raid defence so much harder.
Teleporting or tesseracting to a -raider- who doesn't want to be tesseracted or teleported to was always a bad idea, now it's just at bit even more so.
To move a defense team into a village under attack, you usually either need a friendly beacon or someone who holds down a raider long enough to make the teleport work. If a raider causes you to lose 25 power to even get there it's really mostly your fault in the end.
Also there's still the widely used method of creating rifts between a well-defended location of your home and the loyal village, and transversing afaik still doesn't cost power.
The only thing I agree on is that flow should cost power aswell, maybe make it cost 1 power if you really want to give nature people another advantage, but plain not costing any power adds more than just an advantage in terms of power use.
Teleportating costing power means people without power cannot use them. That means, as some allready said, rogues and newbies who aren't allowed to link won't be able to do it. It also means that draining an enemy's power resources now has another significant edge, since it can block part of their escaping methods. It means that people will stop summoning others just to be annoying, as quite some did quite freqently.
'course I'm a bit annoyed that one of my neat skills now uses power, but I see where it came from and I agree it's probably for the best in the end.
And as Daganev said, and I usually do too, stop complaining before you've given the change time to prove its effect.
Can we get something coded into the forums so Shiro's account isn't accessible in early morning, late night and for a 15 minutes period after he got killed ingame? Your rudeness is seriously getting on my nerves, calm down Shiro and stay there. honestly.

*slams head into wall* And him saying it's a downgrade is any differnt than me saying that exact same thing, how? Go back to sleep Shiro, and stay there for about 10 years.
As for teleport and summon plus tesseract...summon and tesseract I could deal with. But don't nerf teleport. Please?
Unknown2005-05-13 11:33:21
Read the sign.. shut up.
Unknown2005-05-13 11:33:27
Summon is fine, I rarely bothered with that anyway, it was way to slow. Teleport however is something that was fine, everyone enjoyed it how it was, it did not need to be changed. It was simply a non-issue. Tesseract should not cost 5 power either.
Unknown2005-05-13 11:35:30
nerf flow

Actually, mine actually mentioned teleport and summoning, as well as tesseract. After that, my opinion. Stop trying to abuse postcount, Shiro.
In any case, on the topic again, I think even going so far as to remove cost of summon from mutual allies would be fair, if half of this is over combat.
Unknown2005-05-13 11:36:36
I agree with Shadow, if you plan to give all transportations a power cost, then flow should be included.
Thorgal2005-05-13 11:45:36
Powercost prevented powerful skills from being whored over and over, this tendency to just give a powercost to anything remotely useful or decent is getting rediculous.
Rhysus2005-05-13 12:19:27
Ugh.
Aren't envoys supposed to represent the playerbase to the Divine? Who are these rogue envoys asking for changes to a general skill that I would wager 95% of the realm does not want to see changed? Teleportation was one of the brilliant aspects of Lusternia. By closing down the barrier to travel, you created a small world atmosphere that encouraged more interpersonal communication and reliability, and still left a place for the highways and all the areas with things like 400 room demesnes.
I really have to question some of the decisions that have been made lately. They really feel like no thought was put into how they would affect the world at large. Even minute changes like this can have a sizable impact on the realm dynamics, and I assure you that this will, and it will be negative.

I don't even know why any envoy would add planar to his or her report. Planar seemed perfectly fine to me. Actually, it was the one skillset that did not seem to need any additions, subtractions, or corrections in my opinion.
Daevos2005-05-13 12:38:09
I just want to know who did it.

Exactly. So if it's a good ability, it should take power? I use summon quite a bit during influencing. It comes in handy. Needless to say, I'm not happy with this change.
Torak2005-05-13 12:55:54
Summoning was complete BS and all people did was spam it. I am glad it has a power cost, teleport shouldn't. If you never abused the hell out of it by repeatedly attempting damn well knowing it wouldn't go through this change wouldn't be here. You all have no body to blame but yourself. Being spammed with that on 56k is not fun and often leads to it going through due to lag.
Malicia2005-05-13 13:23:14
Using an ability is not spam. There was a point to it. It worked, sometimes. We were able to summon enemies away and kill them. Effective, I'd say.
Using aethersight isn't spam, Torak, or is it? You'd know -all- about that. If you're looking for someone, then it serves its purpose.
Anyhow, I'm not happy about it but what's done is done. I doubt that it'll be changed back to how it was.

Attempting to summon someone one time after another for over 5 minutes is spam, farscouting 5 or 6 times is not spam. Grow up and don't bother going for low blows Malicia.
EDIT: Makes me wish I kept daily logs to show you all what I mean, but I am sure any Mag raider knows what I am talking about.
