Glomdoring/Serenwilde treaty?

Back to Common Grounds.

You're not wrong about Miakoda.

If it's true that Brennan's slow and only screams when they die, it's a difference.

An IC reasoning doesn't equate to a balance in the game mechanics, though. And Brennan's comment could certainly fit for one that is being chopped as well as has been chopped.

I'm happy with Glomdoring as it is now, but I know others aren't. Can I just point out that it is mainly the leaders, who are clued in, that are happy, and then it is the bulk people without a major leadership role who just feel disillusioned, unimportant and annoyed, both IG and OOG.

That said, I felt like that but now it's all getting set up I feel like I have stuff to work for, even if I don't know what's going on. My concern was that, while the leaders that know what's happening enjoy the secrecy and new perspective, there are many who are displeased for that same reason.

My only problem with people complaining about the secrecy (atleast those who are members of glomdoring) is that people don't ask.

I was not given any information that nobody else had access to before I became part of the 'leadership.' Once I became part of the leadership, the only information I was given was information that recomfirmed that which I had already figured out on my own.

Do some thinking, do some asking, and you will be clued in. I realize its annoying to have to do that, but I think its what makes it that much more fun. Its like the 'Pedals around the Rose' game that other people linked to.

So the way I see it, as a player you basically have three options. 1) Trust your leaders and accept that what they tell you is for the betterment of everybody. (its a commmune after all, not a city or coperation)

2. Figure out that which is kept in secracy. Ask questions, investigate, think, understand, do, etc. Experimentation is a fun thing if done properly. (So far, I don't think anyone should not be able to figure it out just based on what is written allready, you just have to do some digging)

3. Go through your day to day activities and don't worry about the big picture.
Manjanaia2005-05-15 11:05:39
Yeah, I'm too cynical for 1 and too lazy for 2 so I'm just doing 3 biggrin.gif

Oh and that we're not a city or corporation doesn't really make a difference.

QUOTE(www.dictionary.com)
Commune- A relatively small, often rural community whose members share common interests, work, and income and often own property collectively.

Doesn't say 'group of leaders who work for the betterment of the other members without telling them stuff' tongue.gif

Where's 4. Since the forum is OOC you can just tell us here to end the complaining?

Viravain just posted the teachings of mother night, which say we should demand the leaders keep stuff secret. We can't try to pry without breaking the code of the guild.

Personally I'm surprised that Serenwilde isnt jumping all over themselves to have that treaty signed, since it favours Serenwilde far more than it does Glomdoring.

Lets say you work for the U.S press core. You want to find out the new top secret weapon the military is working on. You can ask questions like.. Does the new Budget this year give more or less money to the military? or Has the Military increased the number of scientists and engineers this year?

Oddly enough, that sounds like another ideal of Night.

Well, there is the fact that if we don't agree to anything, we can beat them that much harder, and they can't really do much about it.
Daevos2005-05-15 21:10:01
Well, if you think thats the way things are going to go, continue along.

We can, but we won't.

Chade *could* remove the leash and the fun could really start, but that would require him to either: 1) log in, or 2) be less buddy buddy with Serenwilde evil.gif
