Well, I just looked at the design document and it was a typo on my part. A different herb was supposed to be smokeable.

Uh oh.
I think moving more cures to pipe cures isn't a good idea in general, makes it to easy to cure. The other three realms have 4 tiers of curing and one main tier. Herbs (Main), Focusing, Tree, and Smoking. Here we have 5 tiers of curing, two of them being main tiers. Herbs (Main), Focusing, Allheale (Tree), Smoking, and Purgatives (Main). The addition of Purgative curing makes it very difficult as it is to stack up herb or purgative balance as it is, since many afflictions are cured by both, allowing you to often times cure more afflictions at a time, and it is not very easy to get behind on those two key balances. Moving more afflictions to pipe cures makes things even easier to cure.

FINALLY got heartpierce to hit, after I had been at 0 chest for like 15 hits...

With a focused look, Gwylifar strikes at you with a glimmering longsword.
Gwylifar strikes deep into your chest, nicking your heart and causing your body
to twitch in agony.

1100 from one longsword...plus it did 100 bleed. But it had no permanent effect on diag, its just the strike.

What is Gwylifar's regular damage?
Unknown2005-05-19 02:54:32
300-400

O_O
So Daevos is going to able to instakill me without even needing his other sword? Assuming I somehow miraculously don't die before I get that wounded?

Daevos will be doing less damage now.
Runes are 1/3 rather then 1/2. Maybe one day they'd go so far as to drop them to 1/4.

Its a critical wound....so it starts having a chance at 60 Chest, it took until 0 chest and an extra 15 hits for it to even occur...its not that common.
Desdemona2005-05-19 03:01:35
Heartpierce should cause a geyser of blood to sprout from the chest. *nod*
Hm, I have a question. Are Axes considered as Blademaster weapons? Or I'm unlucky?

Blademaster.
Aajen2005-05-19 03:08:28
Axes are NOT blademaster weapons. You will not get blademaster wounds using axes, ever.
Desdemona2005-05-19 03:24:19
*snap* Then I'm unlucky, for a moment I thought that just -maybe- Axes were considered Blademaster weapons, so I decided to learn some Blademastery...
*shrug* I guess I'll have to sacrifice my beautiful axes for some broadswords, if I wish to experience with the Blademaster afflictions (seeing how Axe will probably not feature it's own specialization). Thanks for the answer.

These basically represent the lion's share of the major skill changes. The next phase for the warriors update will focus on addressing the underlying structure of how using weapons actually work (which is a pretty big deal).
Oh, there will also be one little RP-related change that we're saving until last.

oooh they finally going to get rid of the name 'knkighthood' and keep it with the warrior theme?

It's always been called warrior archetype! But no plans to change the skill name.
Estarra2005-05-19 03:39:56
BTW, guys, hold onto your hats. This kombu smoking snafu (which is my fault) is uncovering more issues in our ailment systems. Be prepared for some changes that could potentially have a major impact on combat.
Unknown2005-05-19 03:40:58
Oooh goodie! I love stirring the pot!
Estarra2005-05-19 03:52:00
Be scared... be very scared...
Unknown2005-05-19 03:54:26
Wheee, everyone get ready to completely re-write your system...so glad I haven't started mine yet
Shiri2005-05-19 03:55:06
Ah, it affects combat as a whole, not just knights? What happened to the "no major reworking policy?" (Not that I'm complaining!)
