No skill should be useless and these changes, as all have, address that. Yes tweaking and balancing needs to happen, but it will over time.
Plus, Roark has already said that making knights different from other IRE games is a main focus at the moment, and I think that i fair enough.

narsrim, you can have your escozul venom when you're tankiess gets downgraded.
I beat on you for almost a whole arena fight, and the ones where you didn't run, I couldn't kill you and I was totally unhindered minus rebounding, no web or anything else. and you just laughed at me
Its healings fault, nerf healing!!
And hexes too

Why are you complaining about tankiness, when you can have upwards of 7k health or whatever? And better armour than anyone else?

Oh, there will also be one little RP-related change that we're saving until last.

Suggest nerfing hexes again and I'll be forced to castrate you.

Murphy: A level 80+ dwarf can do that anyway.
Shiri2005-05-19 07:48:02
Yes, and it's not like healing does much to begin with, it's more a minor herbs supplement, bedevil, plus farheal.
Oh and come to think of it half the things that provide us with 1) Our offence and 2) Our tankiness can also be killed in like one newbie cosmicfire, let alone a Murphy combo.
EDIT: Also, I'd like to know what HIS hurting you consisted of, that is if you moved one room to avoid dark moon or had him waste 6 or so seconds rejecting every time love potion ticked, given that his moonburst, if it's anything like mine, does 650 to an undeffed druid.

Because Against other knights, I still die!

Other knights being daevos, and that being 50% of the time -g-

So does anyone think blademaster is better now than bonecrusher? I'm surprised that BM got so many improvements while BC mostly got bug fixes (in my mind). I didn't think the disparity was that thorough.

I hated pipe balance in imperian, but based on what the afflictions are here I think it's a great change. Suddenly, you can stack afflictions, hoorah!
And even better, they didn't do what Imperian did and make smoking rebounding use up pipe balance. Bravo, I like.

I luuurrrrve these changes.
Malicia2005-05-19 11:03:03
I remember jokingly stating that lunge should go through rebound. It shouldn't. This will -destroy- in a team situation. Lunge bypasses stancing/parrying. Now rebound? I can see it now. Target one person and have 3-5 warriors lunge which will drop said target almost immediately.
I'd like to see Combat looked at, as it was the main problem facing most warriors. Parry/stances are incredibly strong when dealing with aura and numerous other hindering abilities. Passive effects, etc. But I'm rambling!
Pipe balance?
Other than that, thanks for the hard work. It's appreciated.

It's not just pipe balance, though I agree lunge through rebounding might be a bit iffy. But hey, it's still stopped by shield.

I can see plenty of problems coming up from these curing changes, but I will remain silent until everyone else experiences them.

I recognized the problems before the Ur'Guard suggested it in their envoy report. It will cause some imbalances for certain.
Nayl2005-05-19 12:48:29
Would you mind elaborating? I haven't really sat down, and had a solid look at the changes, just noted them, and moved on.

Means hexers will be awesome now!
Xavius2005-05-19 14:23:12
Well, it just made anorexia a scary affliction.
Granted, I don't fight as often as the ones giving vague but ominous warnings, but I don't see this as having a massive, full-scale effect on combat. Things here and there. The Blacktalons stand to benefit enormously from it, being able to stack asthma and anorexia with relatively little effort. Hexes may benefit minorly from the change. I might bother to invest my angel with anorexia. (Please tell me hunger has an annoyingly long eq time!) Other than that...meh?
