At the meeting in the morning, Xavius stood and spoke first. Pointing at Xenthos and Dyr, he declared them to be Soulless.

"It is a pity our capabilities are limited and we can only expunge one of these foul beasts from our midst today," he sighed. "For myself, I cast my vote against Xenthos. Choose as you will, though."

Though Xenthos attempted to refute Xavius's claim, enough others agreed and voted against Xenthos as well. A few remained silent, and Xenthos's fate was decided at noon.

Working as one, the Elders formed a solid, opaque bubble around Xenthos, allowing no air to reach him. They held it in place until the sun set, and then dissolved it. Xenthos's cold corpse remained even after the Elders departed to their own homes.

Night 5

Of any and all still alive,
Seers and Guardians ... let me know who you'd like to scry and guard.
Soulless ... let me know who you'd like to target.
Shoshana2005-05-29 01:59:02
blink.gif it was daytime? I think I missed that somewhere blush.gif Oh well, *goes to sleep again*

Next time, we should introduce a new role. The Shepherd.

All those poor sheeps need someone to take care of them... sad.gif
Unknown2005-05-30 04:14:26
LoL. We should also bring in the Truant Officer to kill off all the damn people who say they want to play and then don't participate

Again the Soulless met to choose a victim, and again there were different ideas for a target. A choice was made, however, and one of their number sent to carry out the decision.

The Soulless ghosted through the village toward requiem dot exe's house. To the Soulless's irritation, the victim was still awake, standing and staring pensively into the fire on the hearth.

Although, the Soulless paused for a moment and smiled. It might be more fun to kill someone who's awake, as long as I don't allow an alarm to be raised.

Stealthily, the Soulless entered the room and eased closer, reaching into a belt pouch and flinging out a handful of the poison dust inside just as requiem seemed to finally sense the danger and whirl around. The laughter of the Soulless choked off as quickly as it had begun when the poison cloud stopped and hung in the air, prevented from reaching its target by a glowing shield.

"Soulless!" the intended victim cried out, bracing to fight.

But the Soulless had stepped back immediately upon recognizing the shield as the protection of a Guardian. Outside, the cry had been recognized as an alarm and the sounds of running feet and shouting voices were growing nearer. Cursing, the Soulless fled out the back just before others rushed in the front, in time to see the cloud of poison dust just begin to settle and the glow of the shield just begin to fade.

Later, when everyone had been gathered, requiem lamented the inability to tell much. "With the glow of the shield and the cloud of dust, I couldn't see clearly. From the shape, the Soulless wore a hooded robe ... I couldn't see their face or tell their hair color. All I can say for certain was that they were about the same height as me. Yes, the Soulless who attacked me was tall."

The Elders were relieved one of their own hadn't died, and the Soulless hid their rage and frustration over another failure. As the sun rose to herald the new day, everyone prepared to voice their suspicions once more.

Day 5

Vote!

Okay, I think Dyr's next on our "known souless" list. Since I'ma trust our supposed Seer, I'll vote for Dyr
Sylphas2005-05-30 23:25:43
We've been doing well so far, it seems, so I'm going to go with Dyr as well.

Dyr.

No reason not to, and good job, Seers+Guardians.

Dyr

And Ashteru came up Soulless. That's four confirmed. Nyla certainly wasn't soulless (yeah, yeah, I know, but I can make mistakes too), but Navaryn may possibly have been. We might win this round.

Oh, and Dyr...any requests for your execution? tongue.gif
Shoshana2005-05-31 01:37:24
*baaaaa* Dyr
Unknown2005-05-31 01:59:47

For shame, Soulless. What have I ever done to you? *glower*
