QUOTE(Jello @ May 20 2005, 10:44 AM)
Part of the problem with the state of putre is the state of the races. It's too good for races that have and are using their regeneration, but the downgrade appears to cripple races without such regen.
I think every race should be competative for PvP or bashing as at least one class.

This is very true... In Achaea, as a Atavian, I couldn't really let myself have the luxury of having Putrefaction active. Why? Because it was suicide. The damage reduction against the things that I hunted wasn't much to begin with, and I wasn't able to cope with the health drain either. It's the reverse with bulky but stupid races, things that cost mana are better to not be used imo... Regeneration here is a pain to keep up, at least for me (so recently, I've even decided to seldom use it).
Sudoxe2005-05-21 03:24:31
As perhaps the longest lasting Guardian archtype basher, the only thing that Nihilists have of any worth for bashing, was putrefaction. I can safely say that once I have some credits, I will be changing to a warrior archtype if Nihilists are left the way they are.

I have killed Celestines with cosmicfire.
I have yet to kill a shadow/moondancer with cosmicfre, since they appear to have a magical resistance that doesn't require any significant cost to put up nor any upkeep.
And I really think all their magical defenses reduces damage by what, 60%?

I've got a magic proofed cloak, too, plus that damage was in the defensive Shine time, meaning another 10% reduction across the board. And to correct people about Shine, it lasts for 4 minutes, with each phase lasting 30 seconds. It's not 3 minutes, or 28 seconds a phase as Shiri seems to think.
Shiri2005-05-21 06:09:52
Perhaps it was changed at the same time the power cost was added, or it varies, because in all prior tests it was around 3:10. 28 seconds is rough. In any case,
This can't possibly be correct, because there are SEVEN phases, not eight.

Yeah but 200 damage from cosmicfire?
Come on that's ridiculous.

Unknown2005-05-21 06:13:47
I've killed celestians with cosmic fire too. They are tankier against magic than moondancers when they're using numen, but they usually aren't.
Eiru2005-05-21 06:15:00
The good thing about that is it costs them power, and isn't a defense that's indefinitely up.
Soll2005-05-21 06:16:32
My bad.

I will probably take Jelaludin back to the nihilists again some day Depends how afflictions work out, since trill cosmic fire will not cut it. Probably the next time I buy like 2k credits and spend them on artifacts instead of trying every archetype and skill combination in the game...
Eiru2005-05-21 06:29:00
Nihilists suck, specially with the putre downgrade

I HAVE A SOLUTION! lets all swap cities. Hell id take celest and its 1 village. I honestly think you will be crying foul after a week.

Imagine celest with the 6 top magnagorian fighters?
even better, Serenwilde, I think we should all go join and get them nerfed to all hell and back, Weaponaura would be very nice.

This is why I this guy.

Serenwilde doesn't having the crushing advantages you've deluded yourself into believing.
Murphy2005-05-21 11:37:22
oh? As it stands now, the ONLY reason to have necromancy is lichdom and ghost. which are both fairly defensive, with ghost being offensive in terms of getting into somewhere.
A a sereguard with moon I'd have a 16 int moonburst. I'd also be able to slowlock people (concussion stupidity aeon) and i'd get +10 to each weapon, have a DECENT damage reducer.
Magnagora's army would be SO much better in serenwilde, It'd be so much more effective
Also a lot more access to spores, hrm I'd be so much more dangerous as a serenguard, its not bad.

You guys are so full of yourselves to the point of it being a joke sometimes. It is not your fighting ability that makes your city great. It is your city's willingness to invest as much time and resources needed to gain the assets you desire. Very Commendable, but that does not mean that your fighters are any greater than anyone else’s (I know, I've fought all of you. The most impressive fighter I've fought in Lusternia is not from Magnagora, he is from Serenwilde).
Daevos2005-05-21 13:59:37
Think Terenas is better than us all huh?
But to elaborate on Murphy's point, a large majority of our fighters are also some of our most dedicated people. And I have little doubt that if six of us were in Glomdoring, Serenwilde, or Celest. The scales would be tipped largely to which ever organization we joined. Thats a fact, not a delusion.

Magnagora simply attracts more fighters. Its an easy city to belong to if you want a pk life style.

You just repeated what I stated Daevos. I said you guys are more dedicated. Not superior as fighters, but more dedicated as players.
Daevos2005-05-21 14:13:44
I was just making Murphy's point clearer, since he never said we were all the best fighters in the game.
