Thats not really the point Ceres, what angers me is that a skill in necromancy is outclassed by one in rituals, and then to top it off putrefaction is made useless..Lets not forget the new sting which I still hate sad.gif
Malicia2005-05-18 18:07:04
Not sure if anyone mentioned it but Celestines got dazzle with transfix. The only transfixing ability in Lusternia. Wow..just wow. *sway*

I have every confidence that when the gods see the results of their putrefaction change, they will change things back.

The next person that asks what envoys suggest what changes is getting banned.  If that was meant to be public, it would have been posted publicly.  I'm getting really tired of hearing people ask who did this or that, because I don't like it and want to yell at them and hurt them.

I'm so very confused now. You first posted that is was suggested by "YOUR" envoys, and then posted now to not ask which envoy it was. So you made sure to point out it was the envoy that we elected (or appointed if original) but won't let us know which envoy(s) it was so we can deal with them? So we just have to assume all the envoys put in for a change that a lot (not saying majority) hate?

If you don't increase the communication between envoy/non-envoys, or make them accountable for the suggestions they make...you are gonna get these threads time and time again. I'm not necessarily saying you need to post, "It was Alger, feel free to flame here!" Instead some way to explain why it was made and the number of envoys who agreed to the change, or suggested the change in the first place. Perhaps when you know a change is on the way, allow them to post here first with an explanation on why it was necessary.

I got no probs with ya Hajamin, but that series of postings rubbed me the wrong way. If the envoys feel it was a worthwhile change, they should step forward and say why it was a good one. Us questioning who it was is not a bad thing, it may mean we strongly disagree and may want to replace the individual since they do represent US. If the change is seen as pisspoor, the envoy isn't going to identify themselves and we solved nothing with an envoy we don't agree with.

Very well put, Devris.
Daganev2005-05-18 18:33:52
Its like in political law making. Some shmoe suggests the law, but after all the interations and discussions, its the Seneator who puts his name on it, and nobody asks which special intrest group came up with it, unless your intention is to screw the seneator and special intrest group.
Eiru2005-05-18 18:39:00
I have no idea how what you just said is at all relevant to this topic Daganev, but more power to you anyway.
Malicia2005-05-18 18:40:27
Wtf is a seneator?
Daevos2005-05-18 18:46:50
.................

I have no idea why this change was done, and I do not believe for one second that any envoy in Magnagora suggested this ridiculous downgrade. But if the current trend continues, Ghost will be the next skill downgraded, and then Lichdom will be hit again. Just so that there are no longer any useful skills in Necromancy.
Revan2005-05-18 18:57:49
Meanwhile Celestines will become deadlier and deadlier. They're already the most overpowered class. WHY do they have to have transfix!? I'm also hearing Dazzle gives two other afflictions on TOP of that. PUT THE DRUGS DOWN.

At first I thought the putre downgrade was probably deserving since the level of protection Putrefaction provided was incredible. Seeing the drain on some people though just seems absurd, especially at the higher health. Perhaps lowering the % of health drain should be a good solution without letting some people keep regenerate enough health through racial, artifacts, or enchantments to keep putre up indefinitely.

Why's that?

You get Drawdown, which is similar damage reduction with no cost.

You're right, 10 powers, unable to use at night or on a New Moon are no costs at all. And the 15% damage reduction is equal to 33% damage reduction as well. Silly me. doh.gif
Daevos2005-05-18 19:14:03
Well, drawdawn gives more than defense too doesnt it. And is not a liability.
Terenas2005-05-18 19:17:58
Right, as it is a Trans ability, it's a great skill, I'm not saying it needs upgrades or anything, especially with Moon Aura.

I'm only agreeing with people that the putre downgrade was pretty severe, but it should have a % health drain associated with it. It's sick seeing Surged warriors be able to regenerate faster than putre drains them. Or in some instances, they would have more health regenerated everytime the putre drain ticks. That's just wrong that it costs you nothing almost to keep it up.

Daganev2005-05-18 19:23:30
10% reduction is too high... 5% reduction is a bit high also...

Just because somoeone can out regenerate their 'cost' doesn't mean it doesn't cost, becaust thats other health that they arn't regenerating, and smaller people still get hurt by it, while all the other skills in the game that give similar protections, the person getting protected doesn't get hurt.

Unless there is a minimum base + % of maxhealth drain, then someone at the lower levels might actually get drained less than from the putre drain prior to the downgrade. Tell me what other skills in the game that give 'similar' protections don't have a power cost associated? Numen costs 4 powers, Shine costs 8 powers, Numb costs 5 powers, Halo costs 10.
Ceres2005-05-18 19:33:29
Halo costs no power.

It is also a 25% flat reduction on all damage of any type.
Unknown2005-05-18 19:42:49
Sacraments is not becoming overpowered! laughing1.gif
