Back to Common Grounds.

I have no idea why this change was done, and I do not believe for one second that any envoy in Magnagora suggested this ridiculous downgrade. But if the current trend continues, Ghost will be the next skill downgraded, and then Lichdom will be hit again. Just so that there are no longer any useful skills in Necromancy.

Goody. More precious ghost. Will it come with a 20 second equi loss after ghosting, I wonder? Or one Kether/Violet to squash us? I know, I know! Next, Celestines get something like "Turn undead" from Baldur's gate. Any liches will die instantly if given a nasty look by one! Or better still, the if a Magnagoran has power THEY TAKE DAMAGE!

I'm going to huddle in my corner now, wait for someone to put the crack down and leave my bad sarcasm to waft over the thread.

The drain amount has been modified. It is now a lower percentage, of
CURRENT health. Be warned, there is a minimum drain on it.

There we go kids.

On the topic of unnecessary downgrades, someone please tell me it's a bug that toads go through icewalls.

Ah. Well, I guess I shouldn't have expected to keep an offence for long. sleep.gif (Unless you're messing around, in which case, here's your sign. tongue.gif)

I'd just like to say, thank you.
Tempers might've flared, people overreacted, but in the end, we're all one big happy family!

I'm still not happy with the putre downgrade, but I really love the warrior changes.
Jadryga2005-05-19 07:10:27
Yay, for the putre fix. Of course, I agree with Daev, the original was fine, thank you! But ah well. Love the length of the list of Blademaster upgrades.

Maybe that's why Alger dodged my stomping 10 times in a row... he was mid-air the whole time.

Even with the "fix" the downgrade is still kinda stupid. Well its okay for REALLY low con non-surged ur'Guard and Nihilists, but for high con races and surged ur'Guard you are going to be down 1-2k health before you even think about fighting another warrior seriously - and if you are going to be at 4-5k health then whats the point in surging anyways? For the sip bonus considering surges mana drain?

They have took was an okay skill pretty much on-par with the other warrior damage reduction skills (Numen, Drawdown and Nightkiss) and made it a skill only theoretically viable for low con races or when you are getting hit by cudgel or boulderblasts - and even then it isn't worth the cost.

Hajamin, trying to hide the envoys is useless - any ur'Guard who wanted to see the envoy report we submitted could and we all added to it as we thought needed. Also there is the fact that the ur'Guard are notorious for not having completely retarded envoys. Since there are only two envoys with Necromancy, we can all deduce from this knowledge that it was Drago who submitted that, and there has been ample proof before this that as an envoy he was about as useful as tits on a bull, and that his entire envoy report as a whole should have been burnt and scattered to the winds instead of being taken seriously.

Personally, I think this is all just a big scheme to make everyone buy Daggers of Reincarnation and going Dwarf just so they are viable in combat, just so the Admin can rename Lusternia's description from "Age of Ascension" to "Dwarf Wars".

Drago has been known to betray people for sheer amusement in other IREs. Perhaps that was the case here?
Hajamin2005-05-19 10:13:31
It has nothing to do with "hiding envoys" it is not your place to ask who suggested what. If you want to know, ask your envoy. As you said, there's only two of them.

DWARF WARS
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...
It is a period of civil war.
Rogue Administrators, striking
from a hidden base, have won
their first victory against
the evil Magnagoran Empire.

During the battle, Rogue
spies managed to steal secret
plans to the Empire's
ultimate weapon, the UR'GUARD
MURPHY, an armored steel
fortress with enough power to
destroy an entire organisation.

Pursued by the Empire's
sinister agents, Princess
Lisaera races home aboard her
broomstick, custodian of the
stolen plans that can save her
people and restore
freedom to the basin....

You just really made my day Jello.

Want to compare records?

You really do have to realise something, Jello, and its that if I really wanted to screw the nihilists up, I would have just cleared out their bank account and gone to another city.

Asarnil, don't speak about what you don't know. EVERY SINGLE PART of my envoy report was talked over with other Nihilists. You all need to just grow the censor.gif up and realise I have better things to do then make all my characters the same.

EDIT: Watch your language. ~Shiri~
Asarnil2005-05-19 11:04:24
1. Watch your language.

2. The Nihilists you supposedly discussed your report with aren't the issue - you are the one who was stupid enough to compile that report, which by the way, wouldn't pass for toilet paper in the ur'Guard.

3. Not everyone hates you because of who you are in one of the other IRE games - I for one don't know and don't particularly care who you were or what you did, what concerns me is in LUSTERNIA you have proven to be only slightly more intelligent to a certain person who used to converse by Moooing.

4. You really don't want to try and malign any of Jello's characters in the other realms, especially since he excelled in whatever field he chose to devote himself to and was without a doubt one of Ashtan's best Archon's ever.

5. When you have "better things to do" it usually means that all your characters ARE the same, because you have "better things to do" than sit around and work up individual unique beliefs, philosophies and style of RP than your previous characters.

6. Sorry Drago, but clearing out their bank accounts is only a temporary setback - screwing their skills over like you have is something that lasts for life - or at least until the next envoy report where they can at least TRY to unfark up your screwups.
Alger2005-05-19 11:07:58
I'm sorry I dont mean to come across as rude or anything... but this really does bug me.

By now we all know it was Drago... it was just stupid. Trying to use one of the helpfull skills in a shared skillset, as a bargaining chip to get upgrades in the nihilist skillset. Honestly... i just dont know what to say to that... maybe the person should go practice in common sense activities. But anyway, honestly... so what if he did suggest it? Surely admin judges the fairness of the envoy reports, be it upgrades or downgrades. So basically my qualm here isnt that some person tried to suggest downgrades for our skills but in the fact that it was seen fit to actually go with the said suggestion.

So does admin really think necromancy needs to be given the axe? Honestly... and as of right now its not even just putre... some of our other skills are a bit whacked out...

Maybe it would have been better if there were actual compensation for the changes but as it stands in exchange for taking away our most helpful bashing tool we were given two changes that dont really mean anything, consuelo de bobo.

It really is depressing, a lot of people thought about quitting today because it really does seem way unfair and i dont know... that just gets to me.

A lot of people need to grow up and experience some of the real world, then. Quitting, running away, hiding your head under mummies skirts - all these things don't solve problems and are the actions of spoilt children too used to getting their way and getting it when they want it.

Have a little faith in the people that provide this game for you. They aren't out to get any one group, they're not going to bugger up any skillset for the fun of hearing you all whinge at them and they have better things to do than push their paying customers away. They make changes for what they see as the best move they can make, and they aren't, in my opinion, beyond admitting they were wrong and making more changes, if it turns out they screwed up.
Eiru2005-05-19 11:28:20
I don't see Alger as a whiner or a quitter, but today we were dealt a very bad blow, there is even a downgrade noone but us knows about and it will probably be the straw that will break the camel's back.
I hope it's just a bug, but so far we're not getting straight answers.
Pretty soon you'll see a lot more whining, and why? I don't know if you're right about noone being out to get one group, everyone's been out to get Magnagora for a while now, our skills are constantly downgraded, while everyone else's is upgraded, a lot of things have changed in the game just so Magnagora can't steamroll other cities/communes. Basically it's like telling us to stop trying our best, because that'll only gain us downgrades, a lot of us feel that way, and that can't be coincidence.
