How did it become useless again? Transfixing is still damn good.
Unknown2005-05-18 23:53:17
Transfixion is only 3 seconds, and no afflictions
Unknown2005-05-19 00:12:04
I seem to remember writhing from transfix being 5 seconds in other realms.
Sylphas2005-05-19 02:35:50
Sentinels could conceivably stack three types of entangle, but noose was a one time thing, unless they were morons and kept following you around. Even then, it's maybe a 3 second writhe. Then you had to hope for transfix instead of dizzy/stupidity, and they had to not be blind.
Here, you can do much, much more easily, and can't tipheret/summer out of transfixation. It's no where even close to a downgrade, Shiro.

Wait, no, I was wrong. Saboteurs in Imperian can yank you through a transfixing lightwall and noose trap, shoot you with a net arrow, AND web you, for four levels of writhing.
Drago2005-05-19 02:47:24
Noose and net arrow are same entanglement.
Sylphas2005-05-19 02:49:23
Noose and a net stack? They both would seem to be ropes. *shrug* I still drool over the thought of someday getting a tri-trans Saboteur. They're like snakes and sentinels mixed together. Hypnosis, dstab, darts, AND a snake?
Anyway... /hijack

Drago2005-05-19 02:50:15
Don't forget three line illusions, hypnosis while dstabbing
Unknown2005-05-19 02:52:00
Fine, get someone to pinshot. Or impale. Or pindown. Come to think of it, I wonder what the max amount of stacked writhing one person can be under is.
Unknown2005-05-19 02:55:36
It was just tested, 3 second writhe.
Drago2005-05-19 03:12:10
Valid types of entanglement are:
IMPALE ROPES HOIST
WEB/WEBS BINDING TRANSFIX
DART ARROW STRANGLE
BOLT NET GRAPPLE
I'd say net/strangle/ropes/binding is the same
Web is seperate, grapple is seperate, bolt/impale/arrow(?) is seperate, dart is seperate, transfix is seperate, hoist is seperate.
So 8 types.

I think if it is listed as separate forms of entanglement, then they truly are separate. You are absolutely certain that Ropes and Net are the same? And strangle refers to the Warden ability to strangle you with their glaive, so that is indeed separate.
Drago2005-05-19 03:29:07
Fairly sure, been a while since I was fighting someone that uses ropes and net.
Amaru2005-05-19 06:25:32
Anyone else think 2 power for transfix is dumb? When blindness stops it?

Amaru, here's your sign.

The idea strangely enough Shiro, is not to make Celestines/Paladins the most powerful classes in the world (as much as it might seem). Dazzle was pretty cool, then became really damned nice and now as it is just transfix... I'm not sure what to make. It sounds good-ish, but it will require testing before I make my final mind up on it. I like having transfix around either way.

well, with the changes to Blindness/Deafness.. if they strip blindness, they also strip sixth sense and leaf the person deaf, meaning they lose the ability to hear anything going on, and they have to use two bits of herb balance 1) to cure the deafness, and 1) to raise sixth sense again... so, yeah.. stripping blindness is pretty damn good, IMHO
