Yeah, I was thinking about this again, mainly cuz Ialie said she wants to be able to bathe in her manse. And I got to thinking, why haven't we been able to have water, trees, etc. in our manses? I know that adding forest, river, etc. rooms in our manses would be hard on the poor coders, cuz they need to take out herb processing, racial regen, and stuff like that, so I was wondering if there are merely flags that are set in rooms that allow for swimming, trees, flying, etc. If so...
Box of Earth (15000 gold)
Makes the ground soft enough to burrow through. Cannot be used in a room that has water in it, due to erosion.
Box of Water (20000 gold)
Makes the room have water in it, requiring the ability to swim in order to enter and exit. Also allows bathing in the room. Cannot be used in a room that has soft soil or trees, due to erosion and flooding.
Box of Leaves (20000 gold)
Causes trees to sprout from the ground, allowing those with the ability to climb into them. Cannot be used in a room that has water in it, due to flooding.
Box of Air (10000 gold)
Removes the aethereal ceiling, allowing those with the ability to fly in the room.
Each of these would simply set the flag that controls that property. No rooms would be made outdoors, so you don't have to worry about weather, and no rooms would have herbs in them, since the room type would remain aether. (I know at least the water and trees can be done! *point demesnes*)

I like the idea. The box of air, however, would need to have a room to the up already to work.

You can give up on asking, we gave you environment type Aether. That is whatever you describe it as.

Maybe a different tack, since clearly environment changing is out...
Is it possible to have manse artifacts that prevent forcecasted environments from disappearing?
This would not change the environment type itself, gives little advantage that couldn't be gained for short periods by existing skills anyway, and it should be fairly easy to code.
Edit: For example -
A gem of stasis that can only be activated in a fulcrux by the owner of the manse. Any mage or druid casted environments will remain until they are either forcecasted by a different archetype or the owner uses MANSE ROOM STASIS RELEASE, which will remove any non-melded environment for 10 power.

The Aether room type is great, yes, but I still want to be able to swim, fly, and climb in my manse. Regardless of how many trees I write about, I'll be unable to actually climb in them. It's a realism thing that I'd really, really like to have access to. I'm not asking for more room types, I'm just asking to have something that's overlayable on an existing manse room, similar to how you can summon dryads to make the location have a temporary tree level, or aquacast deluge to require people to swim.

You can simulate climbing up by the cheesy tack of using up exits, possibly concealed. I have one of those to get into a treehouse in mine.
