Just curious, what was the final vote count? How many votes did Rhysus/Galvadore/Aebrin have?

Well all of the current Glomdoring leaders are first leaders, though if you mean the first first leaders in that big first appointment wave we had, yes, it's coming to an end. Probably a good thing, that way We can blame the mortals for their bad leadership more easily.

Notice how there has still been no women to stand up to the top spot

Sounds like the Bill Clinton situation. He didn't break any laws, and it might not have changed how he ran the country, but the idea was "if he's going to lie and cheat on the person he loves the most, how the hell is he going to be straight with the rest of us?".

not to hijack or anything, but the issue was that he lied under oath in a court of law.
Geb2005-05-22 18:13:36
Hijack of the Hijack. The problem was that they had no business asking about his sex life anyway.

Welllllllllllllll the story goes something like this.
An annoying Dwarf and a stupid Cow were going ot visit to Raziela and walk right by Galvadore and the young Celestian. The annoying dwarf did not see anything, but the stupid Cow took full noticed, and they went back to spy on Galvadore and the young Celestian. TO put it in clever words to stray young children away, the young novice was skilled in the art of speaking.

It should hopefully stir up some change around the city, although that might just be like stirring up sediment in a pond. I'm not sure if Galvadore is the right person to move things forward, but he's one of the better choices if you look at the rest of the city. We have to start somewhere...
As for the Celestia incident.. that's entirely his business, but it's not the sorta thing to be doing on Celestia perhaps (nor so close to Raziela either... She's supposed to be INNOCENT)

Thorgal2005-05-22 23:04:20
They keep saying they're not sure Galvadore was the right person, but was there even anyone else that wanted the spot at all?
Aebrin2005-05-23 03:04:33
To answer Thorgal: No.
When I contested Rhysus so Galvadore can contest (because you need 3 people to have an election), I noted in the news post that I was not there to be voted. I also said that I'm there to allow ANY person to contest.
No other person contested.
P.S. Who's the dorks that voted for me anyways, after I told them not to vote for me.

Oh, we all know you voted for yourself with your alt also, don't try to hide it

Wow that is a feat:
since my alt is in Glomdoring

was wondering why that guy quit glomdoring then came back 5 minutes later *nod me*
p.s I don't care if thats not possible in terms of voting, its my story and I'm sticking to it!

Rhysus2005-05-23 04:13:55
Rhysus was taking up a lot of time as a city leader for me anyways, detracting from some other responsibilities that I'm now happily chugging along on at a far better pace than before. I don't have a huge deal of faith in Galvadore, unfortunately, but let's hope he proves me wrong. Either way though, the culture of the city is what needs changing, not the leader, which is what I've been saying for ages now and is just going to be proven right however long Galvadore stays in power. I can imagine Rhysus taking back his rightful seat once more eventually, but I'll let this period play itself out and see how things progress.

Actually, I find Silvanus' recollection quite amusing while getting the basic story right. *sparkle* As for the Clinton similarities.. not -quite- there...There was no lying or cheating.
I appreciate Llexyn standing up for me. Everyone's private life should be just that. Sorry I can't afford a manse and that Celestia has a really sweet garden for taking a hot date on.
In any case, ya.. all that stuff has nothing to do with how my character views or deals with responsibilities to city or guild. I never ran just for the lofty position. Just thought it was time for change, and nobody else seemed to want to step up. Really, it's just going to be a lot of work and I hope I can make things a little better. Celest has had a really hard time from day one, and has enjoyed little success and suffered a lot. Once that kind of atmosphere sets in, new players don't want to be part of that, and things only spiral downward.
I think that the image of any city or commune isn't dictated entirely by who runs it, nor are all the faults of an organization due to poor leadership alone, but a leader should set a tone and a pace and example, and I hope I can breathe a little life into things and get the city organized a bit better.
And still have a hot date once in a while I'm only mortal, after all.

Why bother being any sort of powerful or prominent leader if you aren't gonna score???
Its part of the reason for WANTING power in the first place, for the women. Galvy is a top bloke, and he's one of the few celestians I have respect for, even though I've smacked him around more than he's deserved

I'll stop before being mobbed by angry Celestines.

Thorgal brings up a good point. I was main city leader for the first time in Imperian, did a very good job. 6 months irl later after I had stopped being on the ruling council, people were still asking if I could appoint them to be ministers and stuff. I was a badass city leader. But, it was one of my worst gaming experiences ever Not sure I ever want to be main city leader again.
Well, maybe in Lusternia It's quite different here. Long as I can find someone who'll actually do the job of trade so that I don't have to

Not sure about Galv. He doesn't seem as strong as Rhysus or Daevos, with the way he answers to citizens and 'meh's things away. But with that comes friendliness and openness, so maybe it's for the better.
Stangmar2005-05-24 05:23:09
Yeah, but with Veo, it's kind of different. She was the first leader, then Karrah became admin, and then he resigned and she took her job back. So, in a way, it is different. Ravin did that too, but he is no longer champ anymore.

Yes, yes, Llexyn did. She slept her way to the top of the Geomancers.
She first started with the absent Ravin, stripping his manhood to zilch, therefore claiming she had better stats than he. And so won the contest against him for Champion.
She then followed suit with Arilyon. Of course, being more delicate with her. She only overpowered her and convinced her that if she became GM, she'd owe her continual sexual pleasures until the end of time. And so Arilyon submissively welcomed the break (and the pleasures agreed to upon stepping down). Course, Daevos doesn't know about this personal plot to destroy his ego that he's the only one in Arilyon's life.
So yes, Murphy. We women are devastating and our goals to reach power are exceedingly superior to the man's ideas of this ladder.
Yay! Go women of Lusternia!
