Standing outside enemy territory

Back to Common Grounds.

The only problem with saying that all other planes should be simple free foralls is that Ethereal is completely different than every other plane.

Even in Astral, the areas sometimes disconnect from eachother, but in Faethorn you can't tell one area from the next... even the room descriptions say its deceptive.

Your going to end up having people only able to do what they want when they have the marjoity of players on the plane at a given time period... and I think thats a pretty silly way to play a game.

Also, one reason why you shouldn't be able to pull people out of an area is because of the karma system. If you attack someone in thier home village and they kill you, they gain karma, but if you pull them out and they kill you, they lose karma.

I think the best thing for faethorn and the etheral realm would be to make an exit thats like 'Enter tree' and have the places dissconected and on seperate continents.. much like astral, or how the aspects are seperated from the avatars.

This also makes it easy to add in new forests without messing up the map! tongue.gif

Yes you can.
"Entrance to Glomdoring" is the first Glom room. "Entrance to Serenwilde" is the first Seren room.
Daganev2005-05-24 17:40:38
And what's the "last room" in faethorn? On the glomdoring side its like Twisted trees or something. I'm pretty sure the room says something along the lines of "you can't tell if this is a twisted forest getting better or a healthy forest getting twisted"

All in all I just hope they are patting Kaervas on the back for so much help, because without him I don't think Glomdoring would stand a chance.

Well some of them try to attack me whenever I'm near ethereal Glomdoring, and I just got enemied to Blacktalon.

Long range attacks across a border make them think twice. (note Serenwilde is not the only one who can use long range attacks, and typically has 2 people using cudgel. 3 if we are lucky. I can count the number of active people -with- cudgel on one hand in the Hartstone. Count the number of active people -with- trans guild skills on less than one hand, and the number of active people -with- trans guild skills that -fight- on 3 fingers)

The implications of those statements are pretty much b.s.

So far every time I have tried to get to Astral I have been attacked by people I have never heard of before. Some noobs some not, but all with the handy ability to bring you up into a tree, knock you out and make you bleed. You don't need trans skills to hurt someone as a person in hartstone.
Gregori2005-05-24 18:04:50
Actually the pull you up into trees and toss you out, was -me- Treelife and Treebane.
Learn your opponents skills.

This is not Cudgel, nor is it an across the border attack. So your argument is moot, which is pretty typical of your arguments.
Sylphas2005-05-24 18:06:49
Actually, treelife in group combat isn't really the smartest move, since it causes most of our group to miss a round of attacks, and let's people escape more easily. Unless you manage to time bane to hit -right- after life.
Daganev2005-05-24 18:10:07
My appologies, I quoted too much.

I was refering to your statement that you only get 3 people who are active and able to cudgel. Because you don't need trans skill to stand in a demense and cudgel and run when you start to get hit.

I have been attacked plenty of times when your not arround Gregori.

So once again... you ignore what people are saying and try to misdirect it into some other point.

Leave that ingame please, when you do it here its just annoying.
Gregori2005-05-24 18:26:03
Perhaps you have problems with reading... I said "I can count the number of active people -with- cudgel on one hand in the Hartstone."

No you don't need Trans skills to cudgel, I never said you did. You need to have Cudgel. Which not many do. Cudgel being at Fabled, and not everyone has the ability to purchase the credits to learn that far.

The only misdirection going on is your own post, that you got hit with skills that are -not- cudgel.

I suggest Hooked on Phonics, it is quite a decent program for reading comprehension.

Daganev2005-05-24 18:36:02
What is this oh so short list of people?
Gwylifar2005-05-24 18:40:08
Okay, boys, less with the jabs and more with the discussion, or Shiri will send both of you to your rooms.

I think the key point is that ranged attacks are equally distributed over the cities/communes. That, and the relative ease of defending against them if your foe doesn't come into the room, are probably why they're not being stopped at a border. I could see it going either way, myself.

Visaeris, do you live in the USA? If so, when are you going to write your legislators to lift the siege on Mexico already?

so where's this proof of you getting hit by at least 3 cudgels everytime you want to get to Astral?
Sylphas2005-05-24 19:09:42
For one, Munsia isn't Hartstone anymore. Minus her, I've yet to have mroe than me and another person there cudgelling. Must always happen when I'm not around.

Never seen more than 3. It's always a combination of you, Gregori, Munsia, and Elryn. Elryn's Aussie, and Gregori's AFK or lagging half the time, or SOMETHING, and you just generally aren't all on at the same time.
Athana2005-05-25 00:41:08
Whoa Munsia's out? cheer.gif

Niara has a cudgel and a Scepter of Arcane Force...too bad she only uses it on mobiles =/

Yeah, she has this thing where if you fight at all, raid, anything, you're a "griefer." It's extremely annoying. Doesn't even village influence for fear of being killed. :/ *sigh*

And Munsia's out of the guild, but NOT out of the Commune. Yet.
Murphy2005-05-25 00:48:36
Elryn's an aussie? no way!

-1 point for the Australian team. I knew there had to be some bad apples in an otherwise good cadre of 'blokes.'
