That black Night thingy

I can't remember if I've suggested this on the forums before, but I really think the Night skill that is equivalent to Rage should not be blocked by being indoors.

Admittedly, holding breath is a high level skill, but it completely prevents damage from Nightkiss... I think this is enough without the outdoor restriction. I feel a bit bad for them (until I walk into choke, of course).

I don't think so. It's blockable by shield, just as ours is, and Darkmoon doesn't go through Rage whereas scourge and shadowsteal do. (Not that I can work out why anyone would scourge through a terror.)
Elryn2005-05-24 03:26:51
Yeah, but neither of those two abilities do anything significant to the victim. Just blindness, isn't it?

My point is that there is no 'darkshroud' ability to block all damage from moonburst.

The two are fine when used normally, since Nightkiss has a leech effect to make up for the added resistance. But the rages aren't equivalent.

What I mean is, there's almost no POINT in using holdbreath, because it gives you no particular advantage over using shield.
Elryn2005-05-24 03:40:15
Well, that is somewhat true I suppose. Though it doesn't take balance or equilibrium.
Shiri2005-05-24 03:46:23
You can also heal and crud without breaking it.

EDIT: And let's not forget that it would make influencing COMPLETELY untenable, when Glomdoring gets its act together. Everywhere, all the major denizens are indoors, and in Southgard/Rockholm/Angkrag the whole place indoors.

Darkmoon is no longer Rageable? O_O

I just realized that Scourge is useful, since it does blind someone and the recent changes to blindness... although, a lot of people can cure it faster than we can inflict it. Oh well.
Gregori2005-05-24 23:11:18
There is a very good reason for using Hold Breath over Shield. Elryn proved it when they kept hitting him.

This doesn't actually help when you're fighting from range, though, does it?

Scourge should remove the holding breath defence.

Reveal to others the true vision of Mother Night, a darkness so black that nothing can penetrate.
That sorta implies they shouldn't be able to breathe through it, nothing can get through it, no air, means dying! Dying is bad! biggrin.gif And i dont believe Steal is working through Terror right now anyway.
Elryn2005-05-25 11:23:54
That sounds a lot to do with vision, not much to do with breathing.

And since it has nothing to do with breathing, hold breath is no defence against it. Which is as it should be.

A bunch of us were hit by it yesterday. Dunno if it did anything or not, but I definitely saw shadow being stolen through Terror.
Jasper2005-05-25 21:11:15
Steal I do believe works with Terror, just it do what it is supposed to do after that.
Unknown2005-05-26 09:03:22
Well if it's so dark nothing can penetrate, then it could be like, you think you've died and you immediatly gasp for breathe to see if your alive. I mean if you suddenly are engulfed in this big black cloud and you cant see shit all, you'd be probably try to breathe. Or make it if you hold yer breathe for too long, you start to take damage, which like doubles?
