Tuek always has one handy.. he's a very well trained and prepared retreater.
Ethelon2005-05-27 13:24:27
Tuek always has an escape route, I've wisped him a few times to fight and he always has an immediate flow target, usually before I regain equilibrium from the wisp.

Being trans everything and having serpent helps too.

I've noticed the first two questions asked before the SEG goes into a battle are, does any one have a mono and who's the flow back target.

If we didn't use our advantages we'd be bloody stupid don't you think?
Daganev2005-05-27 13:57:07
its not a complaint, its a counter arguement... sheesh.
Unknown2005-05-27 14:05:00
And I was counter-countering, don't sheesh me Mr tongue.gif.

A lack of wisp on ethereal would lead to more 1v1 fighting on there. I think it's sad though not really surprising that Serenwilde would be against the idea sleep.gif
Unknown2005-05-27 14:09:35
Why is it sad? I could say I think it' sad that you would be for no-wisping, but that's just as baseless as your comment. There is no inherent worth in either group or 1 v 1, they are what they are.
Daganev2005-05-27 14:22:08
he allready explained why he doesn't like group combat on ethereal.
Unknown2005-05-27 14:26:38
Yes and I don't like 1 v 1 combat, neither of us are more correct.
Shorlen2005-05-27 14:29:49
There are better places to fight one on one combat, like the arena. The reason I never fight there? I'm not interested in one on one combat. Nearly all moondancer skills are based on being in a group. Being alone is boring.
Unknown2005-05-27 14:47:37
Covens are long range group things, I don't know of any other moon dancer skills that are designed to be used in a group. The only difference between group and 1v1 combat is that one is more spammy and one requires you to actually do something besides spam your attack and hope you aren't the one targetted. If you like doing the latter more than you shouldn't be fighting at all in my opinion dry.gif
Unknown2005-05-27 14:51:23
I actually manage to do more than spam one attack - something I find surprising really.

I shouldn't be fighting at all.

Not that I like spamming my attack and hoping I'm not targetted or anything. But if we base the 'should be fighting' question on the 'do you like the proper aspects of fighting' criteria, then I've no business in engaging in PvP at all, no matter who decides what the aspects one should like are.

All of which, tautologically, is just fine with me.

There are actually much more to group combat than just spamming your attacks. Ask Daevos, he leads his group well and delegating tasks suitably: like Eruttu's ectoplasma to delay the enemies, Alger's shieldstun lock with his fast balance, Murphy and other Ur'guards hacking away at weaker targets first etc.

If all you do is spam your attacks and hope you are not targetted, I am not surprised that you guys lose most of the time when Magnagorans are not by your side. tongue.gif

Cheap shots from someone with $2k worth of artifacts aside, in group combat most of the time you have one person calling the shots and the rest spamming attack. What attack they do changes sometimes, but that doesn't mean it's not worse than 1v1. A MUD PvP engine like this is not meant for group combat and the spam therein. If you argue otherwise you're a newbie, no matter how much you've spent my friend.
Unknown2005-05-28 03:55:04
Yes yes Jello, you know all.
Ixchilgal2005-05-29 23:50:37
*Cough* Except some of the skills are completely useless to almost everyone, save in group combat. *Cough*
