I'm so afraid of clowns...One year my uncle gave me a clown painting for my 6th birthday and my mom made me hang it up in my room to show that I appreciated what he gave me...I remember having to go to bed every night having it stare at me...it was traumatizing to say the least... PLEASE TAKE IT AWAY!

The clown is traumatizing. Pennywise was scary, not in a modern RAWR I'M A BIG BAD CANNIBAL AND I'M GOING TO KEEL YOU AND EAT YOU way, but in a subtle eerie/creepy way cos he's not something substantial, like the Blob or an alien, he's illusions and fears. Like, he's there, even if I can't see him, he's there, in every nook and cranny, and if I'm not careful, he's going to get me, so tread carefully, little girl, because Pennywise is there, Pennywise wants to play with you, come play with me, little girl, I've got lovely balloons, can't you see how red they are? type way. Those make you search every corner before you go to bed with a huge flashlight, and eye the toilet bowl with suspicion.
