Everything is better fried. Fried oreos, fried candy bars, but my favorite is fried pickles! Calamari and eels are good too.

ohmy.gif I think I've had that before! Except I think it was duck actually, but the embryo is stll there. Eww and you could see the little head and wings, and it's eaten with this horrible smelling vegetable/leafy-thing, and you're supposed to put the whole thing in your mouth and just chew ... never ever again. But yeah that would apply as the weirdest thing I've eaten also.

...Ew.
Shamarah2005-05-28 19:21:26
I eat marshmallow fluff on its own. Does that count? ninja.gif
Sylphas2005-05-28 19:25:40
I drink ranch dressing out of the bottle, and sometimes eat mayonaisse with a spoon.
Manjanaia2005-05-28 20:00:45
Ackee is pretty awful.

Weird things I've eaten. Hm.

The duck egg embryo thing. Actually pretty good... but I don't think I've eaten it with the veggie thing. Just from the egg. With just a bit of salt.

Sea urchin. One time, when we went to some beach in Palawan, our guide-type person found a beached sea urchin. So he broke the needles off, broke it open, then took out some of the meat to give to us. It was actually pretty good.

Mole crickets. One time, our teacher brought some mole crickets cooked one way or another. They were alright.

Erm, and part of a bull's testicles. There was some left over from an amazing-race type contest, so I decided to taste it. Actually tasted just like dry, gritty egg yolk.

Wasabi ice cream is weird, yes? It tasted sweet at first, then burned my throat a bit going down. I never want to eat that again. tongue.gif

Coincidentally, dinnertime for me.

I have yet to hear anything as delicious as fried pickles.
Nayl2005-05-29 14:06:18
Try frying up a Mars Bar™.
You'll love me for it.
Aebrin2005-05-29 14:37:14
Snake skin soup
Rhysus2005-05-30 00:11:02
Bull testicles, fugu, and huhu grubs. Yum.
Roark2005-05-30 00:14:13
Cheerios with diet caffeine-free Coke instead of milk. Not decadent, but crazy. It was actually tasty until the Coke dissolved the Cheerios into mush.

Hmmm... and people thought -I- was weird for having peanut butter and hazlenut spread on rice crackers (the big ones of puffed rice, not the little bite-sized ones), and for having macdonalds fries with their soft serve ^-^

was just driving the other day and noticed this icecream shop..they had crazy flavours like garlic icecream and stuff like that! blink.gif I decided to stick with good old chocolate chip cookie dough tongue.gif

Eel, not veal. As in the fish. I used to go to Potsuoli (sp?) when I lived in Italy, and they had eel there, but I never ate them, or any other of the various fish there, after one of them gobbed in my eye at age ~4.

Yah that looked confusing, but I was talking about veal. Pretend for a second it doesn't sound like eel and it makes sense.
Athana2005-06-02 00:25:13
Veal is delicious. I always get Osso Bucco when I go to my favorite Italian restaurant. Mmm.. cook.gif

Alrighty, I'm bored to no end, so I spent 48 minutes thinking of a thread.
So, here it is.

What's the most decadent and/or craziest food that you've eaten?

Mine is probably chocolate, wraped in deepfried bacon, wrapped in deepfried burrito's.

Oh the decadence.
Fake Edit: Oh yea, I also have raspberry jam and cheese on my toast.

I took a literature class a year ago on the Decadence Movement. We convinced the professor to, instead of giving us a final exam, let us host as a class project a decadent feast, rife with the elements of decadence that we had learned about in the class. We ended up doing it as a play instead, which culminated with a feast at the end. We each brought the most decadent food we could find of a specific color, and had the feast laid out in a rainbow of excess... I can't remember all the types of foods we had there, but I do remember that fake communion wafers topped with a pile of whipped cream was the most decadent thing I've ever seen, by the literary view of Decadance.

Whipped cream - comes in a phallic shaped bottle, you have to rub the head of the bottle to extract it, often used for sexual purposes, highly processed, no redeeming nutritional value - exists only for the pleasure of eating (and other things), made from milk (which comes from the teat of a cow, evokes memories of breastfeeding, is also highly processed and artificially imbued with vitamins and minerals (has very little nutritional value naturally)).

Communion wafers - holy and sactified food eaten as a snack, representative of eating the flesh of another - not only another, but the *son of god* - and taking pleasure in it, representative of the transition of Decadents to christianity before they die (I believe nearly every member of the Decadent Movement converted like this)

-cough- when I was little I thought I was going to turn into a kitty so I ate cat food.. blush.gif never ever again.. was horrible.. and nasty...

I can't really pick the best thing I've eaten.. I really love italian, chinese, and mexican food... I guess my favorite is Shrimp Lo Mein, right after it's been cooked.. or maybe shrimp and beef enchiladas.. mmm

Oh wait! Fried Icecream! Our foreign language teacher suggested it to me so I got some at this mexican resturant. it's SOOOOOO GOOD! I can't explain how to make it, but go get some. I'm thinking it's just icecream rolled around in corn flakes and then fried and refrozen, but it's incredibly yummy.
