I am feeling bored, and I got to participate in a novice interview a couple of days ago, so I wanna know. What part of them is your favourite. Personally mine is the "Are you willing to die for your Guild and City" question, because as soon as they say yes, I am all user posted image on their asses.

Can't help but feel this is all a ploy so you could get that pic into a topic.
Nayl2005-05-26 12:48:20
Ditto.
However, I like the part where I used to ask them,
"What would you do, if you found (Insert Enemy's Name)'s baby on the road, what would you do?"

Best answer. Was poison it, and give it back.
Mwahahahaha.

I WILL SUE YOU FOR SLANDER AND LIBEL AND STUFF!

I must admit its a pretty cool picture - but it just happened I had that pic to go with the topic, not the other way around. If you don't believe me, ask Jadryga biggrin.gif it was her interview I walked in just as she asked that question, so I Made his Hay.

Did you get it from www.sonsofthestorm.com? Looks like some art there.
Asarnil2005-05-26 14:33:39
Nope!

This avatar was rendered for me by a friend of mine, well at least he claimed he rendered it. It pretty much a choice between these two for which one to use.

the second picture made me think of candy kids... like.. candy corn.. but a kid. Wierrrd heh

I hate taking novice interviews. Ive given at least a thousand in the last year or two and I just hate that half of it is really just bs. Theyre going to say what you want to hear if theyre not retarded so essentially, other than checking that they have certain requirements and common sense/basic knowledge, its a waste of bloody time.

My favorite question so far was and for the last question, Who is the best GM in the basin... (this is recently)

He was shocked when I told him he was wrong and the answer was allysandra cause at the time she was the longest running GM tongue.gif

Interviews are the most horrible parts of any guild. Thanks to Achaea, I will be forever biased against them. If I ever run a guild, there won't be any interviews in that, especially motivation interviews - "what do you value more? yourself, the city, the guild, gold, yourself, cookies?". I remember those IDIOTIC Magi from Achaea had TRUFFLES instead of COOKIES. I like truffles, but my character hated them, thanks to those retards. I hope their guildhall will burn and they won't have any new novices - and with Achaea's new class system, my wish can come true. Oh yes... oh yes...

Ahem, enough hijack-ranting.

i remember when aurella got her first novice interview tongue.gif and had to show Nyla around some specific places in Glomdoring, only I ended up going in the wrong direction for a while, so I pretended I still knew where I was going but was actually trying to get back to a place I actually knew happy.gif I don't think he noticed my mistake though hehee halo.gif or else he was too nice and didn't say anything about it.. unsure.gif

I like the part when they end and you pretend like you have been listening to the responses they have been giving.

I knew it. It was apparently the only reason Ashy passed.

Oh, I never took those. biggrin.gif *Giggles like a two year old* tongue.gif

The geomancer's novice interview was easy to take and to give. No moral questions. Basically, do you have this and that and this and that, ok, take me to ardrak, ok, you pass. biggrin.gif

I joined the shadowdancers the day they came out, and smooth-talked my way out of novice hood.wink.gif

I HATED Achaea's system where you HAVE to take the interview, you can't just wait 24 hours. It was stupid. I only got off of novicehood in the Apostates, the Tanjinn, and the Warlocks. ranting.gif

Novice interviews are an interesting way to practice the all-important life skills of "telling people what they want to hear". This will come in handy if you ever have to do job interviews IRL. They don't generally make for very compelling gaming though.
Manjanaia2005-06-03 15:27:04
I tried the Sentinels in Achaea. O.M.F.G. I mean what's the point? If I was Sarapis I'd have zapped them for discouraging newbies. Three interviews. Controlled learning (too controlled I mean). Strict time limits. You could tell they didn't really want you out of novicehood. Oversensitive novice aides (I cannot remember the person in questions name, but she failed me because I said her pondering made me nervous, and then snubbed me when I asked for a reason for being failed her name began with A i know it did, it always reminds me of Acrune).

She was only replaced when she stepped down. And she nominated Gwylifar who was voted in more or less unanimously.
