He doesn't even NEED to aeon you, you're messed up regardless. You cannot use hunger or syphon or empower to get out, paralysis stops it.

Repeating my question, you're asthmatic, paralysed, anorexic and impatient before you can cure anything, how are you gonna get out?
Ethelon2005-05-27 17:30:49
Speaking common sense to Thorgal won't work Terenas, it's a hopeless arguement with him.
Thorgal2005-05-27 17:31:44
I'm still waiting smile.gif. Just answer the damn question already, it's not rocket science.

You're asthmatic, paralysed, anorexic and impatient, how are you gonna get out?

Terenas2005-05-27 17:33:19
Thorgal, do you even know your own skills?

QUOTE(Sudoxe)
darkcall syphon

You bare your wrist to your archdemon and grimace as his teeth punctures your
skin and greedily sucks your blood. You sigh in relief as he withdraws and you
feel slightly better.
Your muscles unlock; you are no longer paralysed.
Thorgal2005-05-27 17:34:08
Okay then, how are YOU gonna get out?
Terenas2005-05-27 17:34:47
Syphon again? Since it cures paralysis, which you apparently claimed it didn't. Evoke hod then if you have it, or Gedulah, it's not really that hard to understand it is?
Thorgal2005-05-27 17:35:13
No, not me, you. How are you gonna cure it..not everyone has syphon.
Terenas2005-05-27 17:39:46
And not everyone can do anorexia/asthma, as a matter of fact, only those that took Hexes do. If you're pitting a trans Hexer with whammy and all those afflictions against a newbie, it wouldn't be hard to see the Hexer could easily win. Pitting against someone with sweetfount, Healing, Syphon, or Focus mind and you have another story altogether. Or will you be saying that not everyone has those 4 abilities?
Ethelon2005-05-27 17:42:58
Actually Thorgal, in my system and Zarquan can confirm this cause it's part of my systme, when I diag, if I am venom-locked, even paralysed, I use hod/gedulah.

There is a great deal you also forget Thorgal, such as the fact you have to spend 4-5 seconds setting this all up. Have the target THEN come to you, not have them enemied so nothing hits them early, then before they web/stun/paralysis you, doublewhammythem twice. You are right ohhh great fighter, I was unaware how easy it all was.

How about instead of challenging me, why can't you answer to the fact even you won't take hexes over Tarot? Explain that one please? I'm already sure I know the answer which is BS, but I want to hear you say it's because you are not a Mugwump (which are weak anyways) or yopu can't afford the credits....though dropping tarot and going for Hexes shoul still get you fabled, if not near mythical, since you won't need Allhex.
Terenas2005-05-27 17:46:15
You can't use Hod when paralysed, or couldn't when I tried to use it before I got focus mind.
Thorgal2005-05-27 17:47:20
Hexes offers no defense whatsoever Ethelon...I can't afford losing catacombs, hermit, starleaper, magician and healer.

Hod and Gedulah are stopped by paralysis, wrong again, Ethelon.

Though Terenas does have a point, few people have hexes, and enough people have a skill to cure it, and that's the point that makes hexes not overpowered, just very powerful, and offensively certainly more powerful than tarot, which was the point of this argument.
Unknown2005-05-27 17:50:51
Everyone says what they don't have is better, and gets really angry about it wink.gif

Two hidden afflictions within a second or less is just as good as aeon and a random tarot card, unless you're fighting someone who can't cure aeon, in which case they've no hope of handling the hexes either.
Unknown2005-05-27 17:51:48
Hexes are defensive when you draw a bunch of them along the escape route you plan to take. Assuming you get out of the first room no single person can chase you.
Thorgal2005-05-27 17:54:46
Well but see, there isn't a single person that physically can't cure/avoid everything tarot can give, and there's a whole lot of people that have no way whatsoever to prevent getting locked by a hexer.
Ethelon2005-05-27 17:55:44
The whole damn point to this argument was why Hexes was so much better than Tarot Thorgal and now you say you won't switch because of it not being defensive enough. So all in all, Tarot is still better, which was what has been said repeatedly.

EDIT: You are right JEla, Hexes are good for when running away or trying to trap someone. Otherwise, Tarot is much better. I can't walk into a room with hexes and quickly cripple an opponent or stop them from running using them, with Tarot I can....huge difference
Thorgal2005-05-27 18:00:01
I said hexes is more powerful offensive than tarot, and nothing more.

I still think tarot is a better skillset, since it offers offense, defence, traveling, escaping and utility. Hexes is just focused on only offense, in which it is better than tarot by far.
Unknown2005-05-27 18:00:20
Tarot is 8 power for enigma and 3 for fool, to give 2 hidden afflictions 3 times, after which you have to set it up again, not feasible mid fight. Plus it costs gold.

Hexes is 2 power per double whammy, 6 power to give 2 hidden afflictions 3 times, can be done quite a few times over the course of a fight, doesn't cost gold.

Hexes is better offensively smile.gif

Thorgal already said he isn't going hexes because he's aslaran, and tarot is his only balance-based ability.
Shamarah2005-05-27 18:05:57
I don't think this thing is fair on people who don't have focus mind. A lot of people who don't fight a lot don't have it - it is fabled in discipline, after all, and transing guild skills is a higher priority usually - so it's impossible for them to fight a hexer. (I have it, so don't think I'm whining about myself.) It's not really fair to force someone to stop fighting against all hexers just because they don't have focus mind, which is really quite hard to get.
Thorgal2005-05-27 18:07:16
Finally someone sanely responding spoton.gif.
Terenas2005-05-27 18:07:55
So it's fair game that a Hexer has to know and be able afflict with anorexia, asthma, impatience, and paralysis to keep someone down? And obviously hope that the person didn't cure it before you got all 3 to stick?
