being sucked screaming down into its darkness, his cries abruptly ending as the
stinking chasm rumbles shut.

Defeated, Shiro is cast out of the Arena.

Spars should never be this short...

chasm needs have some drawbacks.

Can't do anything during channeling. IE no healing, writhing, etc. there's one major drawback, too. Move, numbnuts.

Chasm has -plenty- of drawbacks.

To give Shiro some credit, he -was- doing a fair amount of damage.

You can't really say spars shouldn't be that short if 1) you expect the person to teleport into your deathtrap, and 2) you did nothing but go for an instant kill. Great..skills?

Yea, terenas, except... that's the second time he fell for that. You'd think we would learn? I mean, he DOES have tumble, and anyone who spars alot should know the arena like the back of their hand by now. If you'll notice, he made no escape attempts... he just hit me (at least from my side).

He probably thought you actually wanted to have a spar, in which you know, actually uses your skills to give decent fight, not starts an instant kill like Chasm that requires no prerequisites to initiate. But that's just me and my thinking people wanting to spar in the arena to learn about combat, not just killing others ASAP. No, I guess you're right, I'd whore an instant kill too if I had it at every possible moment to end the fight as fast as I can, then go and post on the forums saying how the person didn't put up a fight.

I did use my skills. See? Chasm is a skill... my demesne effects are skills. I don't see what you're complaining about. It's not my fault if he dies to a chasm.

The reason why I didn't make an attempt to flee, is because i'm not use to fightning in just one room. I was unsure with what the exits were, and knew I would be dead before then. Kaervas is the only geomancer who actually comes for you, if yhou don't go into his demense. I had no choice but to enter it.

That's a lie. Kaervas ran after a few moonbursts from me in the FFA, then when I teleported over he just instantly starts Chasm, I didn't even bother to flee since I was already out of foods and passing out.

Could judgement be like chasm, where it can only be stoped by love and sleep?

Well, I think Shiro is just happy Revan wasn't an Aquamancer who set up a two room demesne just in case and then flashflooded.. forgetting to move the center.

Every ten seconds "You are dragged by the currents southeast" though that didn't keep you from nailing me anyway, heh.

I don't like the fact, stun will work on judgement and not chasm. Judgement and chasm are the only two timed instant kills, except for soulless.

Moonburst hurts though

So does Chasm.

If you can't leave the room in 12 seconds you deserve to die to it.

The reason why Chasm isn't like judgement is because of the realism factor, not balance factor. If someone is judging you, they actually need to be awake, not prone, or anything that would sotp them from doing whatever they do.

Chasm, you just point at the ground, the hole opens, and then you just patientally wait and concentrated on the hole swallowing them.
