Har, specializations for the non-city races?

How do the race changes do anything other than make players a lil more powerfull... Theres very little RP involved in the Stat and Advantage/Disadvantages. Whats being suggested here is a completely different thing than stat augmentation, though the primary reward for doing such quests would be a large boost in stats, speed, eq, or whatnot, the RP possibilities for the quests very much make them a viable and interesting topic to think about...

I'm kind of dissapointed in the acctual imaginations you people have if all you see these quests as is a simple way of beefing up characters a little more

Take out the stat mods for the quests, and I'm all for it. If it's for RP, great, if it's for boosting your character, that's been done.

Yes, I like that idea. I would so love a quest where it made me not a regular Elfen, something special you know, for RP sakes.

Could we make the quest joining Glomdoring? happy.gif

I mean, look at the Tosha quest.  Who honestly finishes that quest, anymore?  It gives a perm bonus to your max life, I'm told.  That's a LOT better than 5k gold.

Wrong. 36 real life hour (whether logged on or not) bonus.
Erion2005-06-10 12:55:31
OMG they lied to me. sad.gif Still, 36 hours is a lot. tongue.gif Wonder if it stacks with the life torc. ninja.gif

I hate going off heresay. Makes life so interesting. happy.gif

But I *would* like to see quests that changed your racial title. From like, Imperial Merian to something, like, a Merian Archon. Or from a Shadowcaster Faeling to a Nightwing Fae. Even though the stats are the same, it's just fun to see small changes like that.

With Penumbra! Wee.

Oh stylish, I love that idea Erion, that rocks utterly. Changing your race title through questing. I love interesting ways of advancement / levelling up / customisation.... Hmm... so many ideas now biggrin.gif
Erion2005-06-10 13:28:09
happy.gif I like it, really. Of course, it could ONLY be done once. A large experience gain, an equally large gold gain, and a change to your specialization title... S'all. But I do think it would do well. smile.gif Instance, if just each of the Nexus keepers would give them out (At, say, level 50, GREET them). And then, for non-specializing races, they could get an extra suffix/pref added to their race. Like, a Loyalist Krokani (If they went Paladin) or even changing Orclach to Orc for an Ur'Guard, or an Igasho to a Skullbreaker Igasho (went Bonecrusher) or a Fleshflayer Igasho (went Bladesmaster).
Erion2005-06-10 13:34:09
For races like Aslaran, they'd go through the master of the Lodge, the Krokani would go through someone in Paavik. Maybe a wandering Igasho through the Wilde/Glomdoring/mountains for Iggies? A Mugwump in the swamp.

Make the quests actually HARD, and maybe even require OTHER quests to do it - as in, for a Merian, a level requisite, and also having had raised Marilynth. Viscanti could be quite the opposite, having had to raise and empower Ladantine. This would most likely renew the whole inner sea conflict.

And an extra bonus for loboshigaru who do the Tosha Monastery quest.

Because Loboshigarus need all the upgrades and helps they can get, good idea!

Erion2005-06-10 18:18:47
Hell, I think they SHOULD. Aslarans should get one, too, for the Shanthmark quest, and Krokani for the Paavik quest. Furrikin in Estelbar.
Manjanaia2005-06-10 18:40:57
Yeah I like this. A loboshigaru who does Tosha could become a Loboshigaru Monk.
Manjanaia2005-06-10 18:41:33
It wouldn't give them stats, just the monkness.
Erion2005-06-10 18:42:11
A WARRIOR loboshigaru who did it could be titled Monk. Although it should be a bit more indepth for them, than any other race.

A mage/guardian could be called a Loboshigaru Hand, though. or somethin'. happy.gif
Erion2005-06-10 18:42:37
+1 cookie.gif Or a warrior be a Loboshigaru Grappler, and a mage be called a Monk. happy.gif for the spiritual aspect.
Manjanaia2005-06-10 19:23:32
Nah I'd say just make them all monks.

And orclach that did Shallach could be a... Greater Orclach or something. (actually scratch that it sucks.)

A krokani doing the Paavik quest could be... I dunno I need to see these places to judge! What krokanis do you get in paavik?

An aslaran doing Shanthmark or whatever it's called could be an Aslaran Chieftain.

Furrikins doing Estelbar could be... I dunno I'm out of ideas.

Etc etc anyway.
Erion2005-06-10 19:25:07
Paavikians all claim to be descendants to the original Paavik House, which were barons, which held much of the Grey Moors as a Celestian Fief. They've a few renown paladins in the family.

No, I really think that no person who plays a Faeling at the moment, really can embody what Fae are... especially the bunch in Glomdoring.
