Race changes

Unless they're fighting Merians wink.gif The point is, fire vulnerability or resistance is much more significant than electric or cold resistance. Considering how many more races have poison resistance now that could change even more so. I would only have my staff for pollute against a race that resists physical and poison for example.

Well, I got my strength dropped some more... (being that I was human, and took a hit at faeling), but I got another sip bonus point and faster herb balance. I suppose we'll see how it goes from here, but if I ever have the chance (or it comes high on my priority list) I might just get a cameo.

Wooh, very good changes! Tae'dae alt, I come again!

And thank you for the free reincarnation! wub.gif

Well, if its true all the experience modifiers have been removed this is a good change. smile.gif And it does look like most races (yay for Furrikin!) have been fixed up quite a bit.

I'm a little disappointed Faelings got more con, and that the charisma bonus over shadows was revoked ( huh.gif ), but I guess we'll deal with it. Faster eq and losing some of the balance bonus would have been nicer, but ah well. The herb and sip thing is reasonable.

Base Faelings got more con. Shadowlords lost con, so overall this is a very good step up for us. I mean ultimately 300 more health isn't a huge deal when I am being killed by damage doing more than that, but 300 more health combined with eating herbs at 1/second and sipping health at an increased amount, which also increases the amount my medicine bag heals, in theory may just mean I can crawl away to lick my wounds once in a while.

I really hope dex will factor in dodging and parrying or else defensively Faeling dex is just eye candy and offensively well it only helps Shadow Lords then.

i read through all the posts and saw what Estarra said about the humans evolutions and some proposed ideas about what it might do...but does anyone know if those stats go into what benefits the archetype most? (e.g. Mage humans get stat gains mainly in int, while knights get str or con?)
or are the stats more randomized...like mostly int for a mage, but also spread out among the other stats?

It just feels like this is yet another step towards Faelings becoming little minature warriors, which I hate.

I'm sure there's been a lot of work put into all these changes, and I am grateful that so many needy races have been looked at, but I really can't muster anything but disappointment for Faelings. It seems like I was reading too much into them. They're just little flyers with a predisposition to taint. I KNOW this is ungrateful, and no-one else cares, but that is how I feel. I just want to go back to what I thought they were, the children of the spirits. They are no longer the singularly most charismatic, their dexterity will (probably) now count more towards weaponry than flight, their bonuses are intended for warrior classes, their evolution is by way of ruin and un-nature. The int change is lovely, though.

I don't suppose fae will ever become a playable race?

Enough is enough. Here's some brutal honesty.

You thought wrong. Get past it.

No he didn't really, he went with how Faelings are portrayed in the history and in their original HELP FAELING file. I think he has a right to feel wronged when Faelings were one of the big drawcards of Lusternia for him.
Gregori2005-06-06 06:56:42
One thing I would like to request and this will probably be lost in the mounds of posts so I will Envoy it sometime too.

Races that regen in their natural Terrain. Could Ego be added to that as well? As it is just as important if not more so than health and mana to some people.

Very good point Gregori.

Fine, he didn't think wrong. But he's been wronged for a long while, at some point he needs to stop whining about it.

At least I frequently change whine subjects! laugh.gif

Problem is, the situation keeps getting worse from his perspective. I don't think he need worry about this latest thing though, he got an extra INT and so forth.
Ashteru2005-06-06 07:17:33
If I now look at it, well, all changes are fine, but unspecialised Merians are for me (only for me, maybe) the worst race now. Not very good constitution, and compared to Mugwump, the Mugwumps are for fighting and bashing a lot better suited...give us eq 2! Please? *puppyeyes*

Perhaps Dracnari regen could be altered, since the only Volcanic room is Isune's Fulcrux, to be outdoors, or during the day?

Nah...they'll get better with Gaudiguch.
Yrael2005-06-06 07:23:29
That or remove regen entirely, and knock sip penalty down to level one?
Unknown2005-06-06 08:57:22
Erm.. anyone tested yet how exactly slower herb balance works?

It should reduce it to 2 seconds from 1.5.
Herblore makes it 1 second.
I don't think faster herb balance stacks with herblore though. But I can't test it accurately enough to say.
Ekard2005-06-06 09:04:11
