Oh and didn't Viscanti's get nerfed?

Erm, ya, Amaru is now reeeeeeeeally overpowered.
Syrienne2005-06-06 19:41:49
Anyone else confused why Faelings got str con and soon speed reduction and in theory I'm guessing Dex is supposed to make up for their now slashing of damage and wounding via strength but they went and gave Elfen Lords just as much dex and even more tanking ability and damage dealing/wounding for str? I mean its looking like Faelings lost everything that made them interesting.. no longer are they unique for their Dex and soon no longer will their speed be the same factor it was. I'm confused how this 'balanced' things, it seems more like Faelings got chopped in every department and Elfen Lords and Merian Lords especially got all the bonuses, as far as Specialised races are concerned. I now have nothing to look forward to in this dex change because we no longer have the unique dex.
Terenas2005-06-06 19:45:52
18 dexterity is no longer unique, level 2 health sip, level 3 balance, and level 1 herb bonus aren't good enough for you? Gah, stop complaining.

At least you have dex...... shadowcasters... meh.. I am depressed again.
Malicia2005-06-06 19:47:45
Yes, Gods. Please.

2005/06/06 19:27:45 - Amaru has discharged Syrienne from the clan of Disciples of Klangratch

See what that gets you?! sad.gif Stop whining.
Syrienne2005-06-06 19:48:29
Heh I told Amaru to kick me.

And yea I feel bad for Shadowcasters too.

Nope.

Master viscanti's have 1 less int, but 1 more con, now, as well as a charisma bonus. (And, of course, the cutting/blunt/poison resistances.) Whereas brood viscanti have 16 strength, 16 con and 12 dex.
Terenas2005-06-06 19:51:49
With the recent race changes, I don't think any races aside from Guardian/Mage specialized forms have any rooms to complain.

Imperial Merians only has their high Int as a plus now, since Aslaran and Furrikin both get level 1 eq bonus, and Mugwump gets a level 3.

Master Viscanti lost 1 Int.

High Elfen has no recognizable upgrades.

Shadowcasters lost 3 Dex.

Loboshigaru and Aslarans used to be enemies, I think. Another example of fatal cats v. dogs war, thanks to their dominance as predators is wolf v. puma.

“With the help of an artifact of one of the Vernal Gods,” said the Emperor thoughtfully. “The aslaran, or the cat people as you call them, must have been desperate to give up their holy relic.”

“They live in the Grey Moors too,” growled Packleader Oolit. “We have many battles with the aslaran over that land.”

Hehe... it's only about 30 minutes work and it was fun... I wanted to see the changes in detail. If there's any mistakes yell at me and I'll fix them, they should be correct though.

Elfen/Merian Lords got the pump! They look pretty cool... I still am looking forward to making me an Igasho biggrin.gif

The list was wonderful, Angel. Congratulations on making it, and thanks for it's helpfulness. But, I think I need to correct you on a minor detail: Taurian level 2 resistance to electric isn't new, it was just upgraded from level 1.

Another example of why Loboshigaru and Aslaran should clearly be pitted against one another in a millennia long, bloody war:

I mean come on, there's no one out there who can deny it now.

Damn right.

I checked Igasho through again and my numbers were right. If you check the Lusternia website, the races are still on their old numbers, so it's easy to check the old races. Igasho gained 1 str, 1 dex and 1 con. Very nice... definately going to make one biggrin.gif
Roark2005-06-06 20:08:53
Regarding shadowlord fealings, when the new knighthood changes are loaded plus the speed adjustment, they will be comperable to tae'dae for damage over time. Though they attain such damaging so with more strikes, which means that they have more chances to induce poisons and wounds than a tae'dae and other slower races. If anything, the shadowlord faelings may still be too powerful after this change, but at minimum it should make them in the same ballpark as other warrior races.
Terenas2005-06-06 20:12:18
So when can we expect these changes? Hopefully soon. pray.gif
Unknown2005-06-06 20:18:02
I just realized something... a Trill Aquamancer will be invulnerable in the Catacombs of the Dead (since they do cold damage right?) ohmy.gif smile.gif biggrin.gif
Tehn2005-06-06 20:35:33
At this point Roark, running of what you said, I can speculate...

Ok, Tae'dae and Shadowlord Faeling will have the same damage over time, however, Tae'dae have MUCH superior health and all kinds of resistances, as well as the same sip bonus we are so "graced" to have, the same one everyone keeps refering us back to. So what does a faelign have over a Tae'dae?

YOU CANT SAY SPEED BECAUSE OUR DAMAGE OVER TIME AMMOUNTS TO THE SAME

We have nothing, we are sub-par as warriors when WE ARE A SPECIALIZATION. How can you say Faelings might to be good? Please justify that to me. Please.
Amaru2005-06-06 20:37:27
rolleyes.gif

You can't see the obvious advantage between doing so much damage with frequent hits, and with infrequent hits?
Terenas2005-06-06 20:38:42
unsure.gif

I should stop using my rapiers to kill people then, since I can't do enough damage over time.

That's why they will still be preferred. Amazing offensive capabilities are usually taken over amazing defense
