What made you choose Lusternia as your main MUD?

I remember reading Lusternia's history on Jelani's MSN group as well, it was an interesting read, more than I had ever bothered to read compare to Achaea's history. Dumihru and the admin's dedications to the game are some of the things that kept me here. happy.gif

One of the players here was an early alpha builder and she got me in (she was from Aetolia) I was sick of aetolia's stagnation and lack of updates, so I decided to join the Lusternian crew and do some building. For a while I worked very slow, it wasn't until roark unveiled some of the first guild skills (and i was blown away) that I got into overdrive with building. So yeah, I don't go anywhere else any more after a year of building here, Lusty sucks you in completely.

Out of all the IRE games, I find that the admins on Lusternia are most responsible. They are responsive, quick with updates and new stuff, and listen to the players (whether they agree is another matter tongue.gif ).

As for other muds... huh.gif ... you mean there are people who still play them?
Amaru2005-06-06 19:07:39
Yeah, people like Roark, Raezon for the quality design and Lisaera, really stand out.

Damn, I wished I had quoted Lisaera earlier on DoK when she mischan'ed her frustration about elevation recoding or when she told you to ban the word in the clan.

Yeah the admins here are really good. The Divine on Achaea I thought were NPCs or something.

I came because it was new. I stayed because of the prevalence of roleplaying (despite the efforts of a few to bring it down) and the player-run economy. I'm a Prosperian in Achaea, and I've always enjoyed trade and profit, so the system they've setup in Lusternia is just absolutely amazing. The villages, quests, and abilities just draw you in and make it easy for you to roleplay, no matter what personality type you are. I find much less standing around talking about inane topics and much more fighting or questing for fun and profit.

Plus, I like being a big, ogre-y guy who hits things really, really hard with his mace and flail.

Better start training then, the Serenguards need to get into fighting shapes!

Eh, so true. Hard to do work when the person that approves things doesn't respond. Got the chance to work here, and well... Got enough work to make up for a year of no work in Aetolia tongue.gif It's all good, can't get bored when you have things to do.
Shryke2005-06-07 01:02:34
I chose lusternia because it was new, changing and the gods were-and are still -extremely- active
Archthron2005-06-09 19:21:27
I especially like Lusternia because of the freedom of the trade skills, in that I don't have to choose some mediocre guild just to be able to make money. Also because nothing was happening in all the other IRE games and I was bored of bashing. Lastly it was because of the relative fairness of the three city three guild setup. The Divine and the rp really made me stay as well.
Unknown2005-06-09 19:32:04
I chose to come to Lusternia mainly because of the hype I was hearing about it
on Imperian for so long. I never expected to have such good skills right from the
start, stuff that you have to be really high in skillrank in other IR games to get.
That got me sucked in. What kept me in was the new skill branch system, more
balanced guilds, and the fact that with only few exceptions almost everyone has a
different name even though you know its the same people playing. That way you
can get along with people you normally wouldnt without even knowing it. If that
makes any sense.

Melanchthon and I came over from Achaea together- thought we'd give it a try. Personally, I was fed up with being bound to eternal truffledom as a Sentaari and wanted to try a role that was completely different.

Why am I still here?
1)The Divine, Fain in particular
2)How Combat works in Lusty
3)The players.
