Damnit, you're KIDDING. There goes my Furrikin advantage again. At least I got resistance to...an attack...that only my guild uses...doh.gif Better than nothing I guess.

Shut up and stop whining.
Thorgal2005-06-07 15:37:44
Feh, Shiri had a good point.
Amaru2005-06-07 15:42:22
Here's a good point. If you want to fight, change race. Furrikin might possibly be able to fight as some class or other, but it obviously isn't and never will be Moondancer.

Thank you.

Now if he'll just spare us the "But it's not a good race for anything!" speech, I'll be happy.
Narsrim2005-06-07 20:39:56
Dear Terenas and Nejii,

I must say, I am quite impressed that you can spend the time to complain about getting entangled, but neither of you have yet to post about how insane it is that Taurian Ur'guard can now obtain 24-25 strength (fairly easily given it is the max value). You certain helped waste my free reincarnation. Go waste someone else's.

Taurian Ur'guard:

17 base +2 (flex) +2 (lich) +1 (highmagic) +1 (fete) +1 (favour) +1 (fortuna)
Sylphas2005-06-07 20:42:59
Narsrim, I'm annoyed that I jumped so fast too, but you can't blame anyone else for that, especially since you were warned.

Where? I must have missed this warning...
Nayl2005-06-07 20:54:38
I think it's page one of the races discussion, or on the announce news. Dunno, Estarra said somewhere about waiting a bit.
Terenas2005-06-07 20:55:19
Narsrim-

You do realize that those posts were done before they messed with racial balances. It was posted at the time they they only initially put those in, and like Sylphas said, Estarra did warn us to wait a day or two before reincarnating since they weren't done. Announce post 304 is where that can be found. I'm sorry that you reincarnated into a race that was subsequently reverted back to its original level, but that isn't our fault by any means.

Series of Events:

1. Narsrim reincarnates into Mugwump

2. Narsrim shows Terenas/Nejii his speed with +3 equilibrium

3. Terenas and Nejii both run to forums about Mugwumps

4. Other people proceed to whine about Mugwumps

5. Mugwumps get changed to garbage

-----

No, it isn't your fault Terenas. However, you certainly went out of your way to complain about any advantage I gained because I was nice enough to show it to you. Do we have any threads about a 25 strength (with omen) Taurian Ur'guard pulp or haymaker? Call be bias, but I'd certainly count that as -far- more excessive and f***ing ridiculous as Nejii tried to term Mugwumps.
Terenas2005-06-07 21:22:08
Narsrim-

I know you're pissed, but stop laying the blame on us. I wanted racial balance to be downgraded as much as the next person. Have you stopped to consider that the admins had this planned ahead of time? They wanted this to go in at the same time as precision changes, our complaints had no relevance whatsoever on this. If they actually thought that Mugwump level 3 eq was too good like we did, then they would have downgraded Mugwump alone, not across the board. This affected all of the races, not just Mugwumps or Faeling.
Shiri2005-06-08 04:08:52
Incidentally, Amaru, Furrikin are as good at being a Moondancer as any other class, because of the +balance being downgraded as WELL. rolleyes.gif

And I hadn't -seen- Taurian being insane yet, so of course I didn't complain about it. I had seen Mugwumps being lethal. :/
Murphy2005-06-08 04:37:39
Taurians only have 15 str as a base Narsrim. I don't count having to put up enrage for an eq every 90 seconds as a constant +2 to str. Nor should you count lichdom as its not constant.

counting fortuna for the stats is a bloody joke, i hate it when people do it, yes it CAn land on strength but usually doesn't.

Counting a heroesfete isn't viable either because its prohibitive to do it, all the time, and the same with a TF.

So, based on that we are looking at Taurian Ur'guard:

15 base +2 (flex) +1 geburah (IF youve chosen highmagic in a world where trans lowmagic is way way way better than trans highmagic) +2 to lich (If it happens to be night) and then the bonuses from fortuna TF and heroesfete.

A normal Taurian ur'guard with geburah and lich would walk around with 17 str most of the time. 19 STR for 90 seconds if you enrage costing EQ.

at night it goes to 20 str unenraged and 22 str enraged, which is the same as I get as a taurian.

If someone is very very lucky and they MIGHT get the strength you are talking about, but not very likely.

I went orclach over taurian not only for RP but i saw orclach to be better for ur'guard.

So really, a taurian ur'guard (which no-one currently is) can get 20-22 str at night enraged as an average, but day is much longer than night as well to be considered.

Taurians are on par with viscanti as far as ur'guard races go, although i still see viscanti as better.
Unknown2005-06-08 05:20:35
It's funny how every time Narsrim feels he's nerfed he tries to get ur'Guard nerfed in response.
Citera2005-06-08 06:00:14
Hmph. Timing might not be -totally- accurate, but it seems to take me 4 seconds to recover from using Nature Vines, and 6 seconds to recover from blasting via cudgel, as a Mugwump..isn't the change a tad..harsh?
Thorgal2005-06-08 08:21:17
Your timing is completely inaccurate, since the base equilibrium recovery for cudgel is 4 seconds, makes it kinda hard for it to be 6 seconds as a faster race doesn't it?
Geb2005-06-08 13:44:55
I will have to agree with Thorgal on that. You must be experiencing some major lag there.
Torak2005-06-08 13:50:29
Narsrim, Mugwump were bloody insane before it was changed. You could drop someone to 0 mana like nothing else.

4.14.16 The Taurian Race

Descended from the Elder God Tauro, the taurians are probably the most
naturally aggressive of all the mortal races. They have giant,
well-muscled bodies with enormous bull heads. While they make superb
fighters, most military leaders are loathe to rely on taurians in large
numbers because of their volatile and tempestuous anger, which sometimes
erupts for almost insignificant reasons. Added to that, when taurians are
in a group of their own kind, the anger of one can set the rest off and a
"stampede" of battle-frenzied taurians have been known to decimate their
own allies. As a result, taurians are discouraged from forming groups in
multi-racial civilizations and, therefore, tend to find employment as
individual mercenaries.

STATISTICS:
Strength : 15 Dexterity : 12 Constitution: 16
Intelligence: 10 Charisma : 10 Size : 15

ADVANTAGES:
o Have racial language, Taurian.
o Have level 1 health regeneration.
o Have level 2 resistance to cutting damage.
o Have level 2 resistance to electric damage.
o Can enrage self and other taurians, increasing their strength +2 but
chance of involuntarily lashing out at non-taurians.

DISADVANTAGES:
o Have a level 1 susceptible to magic.

-----

15 + 2 = 17 base
Erion2005-06-08 17:12:42
Why don't they just change the formula for lvl 3 balance/eq, making it half the increase between 1-2? Meh. As it stands, honestly, your lvl 1 bonuses can not be worth crap. Irrelevant to me. I'm faster than lvl 2. S'all that matters.
