I like the lightning idea, too. Here, fishies.
Thorgal2005-06-09 12:26:37
Yeah, so aquamancer staff is too strong, everyone seems to agree...since there's barely any resistance to heat..and now you want cudgel to do lightning.. against which there is even less resistance?
Nyla2005-06-09 12:27:46
What if twirl protected you from illusions or let you see through illusions.
Erion2005-06-09 12:37:43
Eh. I guess I could see it. Lowmagic/highmagic kind of thing, since Illusions is a highmagic thing.

That's the POINT. Cudgel SUCKS for player/player fighting. So, outdoors = 100% lightning. Indoors, what it is now. Siiimple.

Or, when in a forest, Cudgel does like, 40% asphyx, 40% cutting, 20% blunt.

And make the point message be vines lashing out, grabbing %1 by the neck, thorns lashing out, and thick heavy branches bashing agsint them.

Bam.

Lightning damage indeed cool rather than just having the not-so-high and not-so-damageable cutting damage type...Druids are sort of elemental scholars anyway, so make the cudgel elemental
Ceres2005-06-09 17:02:47
You know.

I sometimes think our developers are a little rubbish.

Sometimes.

Then I come and look at the ideas section of the boards.
Torak2005-06-09 17:03:30
Lightning would be overpowered flat out, especially 100%
Erion2005-06-09 17:29:40
No, really?!
Erion2005-06-09 17:30:46
Honestly, our cudgels need to do more damage inside forests. A lot more. Even if it was something where it factored out a portion of the armour's defense for cudgel pointing. Something. We need to hurt more in our own territory, yanno?
Thorgal2005-06-09 17:51:58
Do magnagorans hurt more in their territory? Do celestians hurt more in their territory?

No.

You already have way too many advantages in your territory, compared to the cities.
Erion2005-06-09 17:52:56
Was it designed in general so that druids and wiccans had the advantage in their home territory? Yes.
Thorgal2005-06-09 17:53:57
And they already do..
Erion2005-06-09 17:57:23
Thorgal. Our point cudgel is a damage type *ANY* Magnagoran can protect against. Cutting! When the *champion* of the Blacktalon is doing less to a naked gregori than he sips for, we've got a problem.
Unknown2005-06-09 17:58:30
The bleeding from cudgel can really stack up, and if it doesn't, they're using chervil, which means they're decreasing their herb balance. Cudgel a bit with a fused rune, then do some supersling when you see them eating chervil. Could work!

When the Champion has only 10 pitiful intelligence, what the hell do you expect? Massive ownage? A dwarf heatstaff me for 700 despise my level 2 fire weakness, do I consider that bad, yes, but then I reconsider the fact that he has only 12 intelligence, he can't expect to do much.
Erion2005-06-09 18:35:56
She had 12 int, btw. And she did not even half that.

Jello, have you ever been a druid? Clot/chervil NEVER run out. I bet you Murphy has more than 1500 chervil in his rift at any given time. Hell, ERION carried 2,000 chervil at any given time, and he rarely fought.
Terenas2005-06-09 18:40:04
If you're going to be eating chervils the entire fight to stop bleeding, I'm pretty sure you will be screwed fairly fast by the demesne, since chervil is based off herb balance now. And who said you can't run out of clot? It is 60 mana for every 20 bleeding, two Cudgels will do in excess of 300 bleeding, that's 900 mana worth of clotting right there.
Sylphas2005-06-09 18:42:50
Bleeding seems rather random. I might be able to stack 300 bleeding in two shots, I might do 100. Perfection, Kingdom, and sparkleberry should easily keep your mana up.
Unknown2005-06-09 18:43:30
I believe chervil clots 50 bleeding, and clot heals 20 bleeding. So if one cudgel shot is 150 bleeding, that's 3.2 seconds of herb balance (two chervils) plus a clot and your enchantment.

That said, fused othala is quite underused. That, some cudgel hits and then alternating cudgel/supersling would be pretty formidable. Throw in ancestral curse maybe.
