Rawr. Ok, I'm bored so I'm planning on making a Lusternia-based map (game) on Starcraft, the game by Blizzard.
For all you who have played Starcraft Multiplayer Use Map Settings, it's going to be Lord of the Rings style - normal unit spawns and several heroes per player, strategize with spells, Arbiters etc.
I think I'm going to start with Celest vs Magnagora, to keep the map simple without four different teams.
It's going to be a 4v3 map, 4 being Celest and 3 being Magnagora (it's traditional for evil to be stronger than good but good to have more players in LOTRish maps).
Any ideas or misc information you could provide would be great. Some things I need:
1. Need ideas for what each player is going to be. For Magnagora it's easy; each of the three players is going to be a guild. However, Celest has 4 players so that doesn't work. What's the Celest guild with the most amount of good fighters in it? Cause I'll probably split one of the Celest guilds in half, with two players playing each half and the other two playing the other two guilds.
2. Heroes in the map (units considerably more powerful than the normal spawn units) will be based on good combatants in game. I need lotsa names for Magnagora and Celest (people like Amaru, Murphy, Daevos, etc); need loads from each guild, not like 50 Ur'Guard or whatever. I'm guessing around 5 names from each guild will be good.
3. Need the assorted city guard names and their strength (Magnagora and Celest only). These will serve as normal spawn units.
4. Need the names of the guildhall for all of the Magnagoran and Celest guilds; names of random important buildings inside each city will be very helpful as well. These will be used as main buildings inside the map.
5. Of course, I need testers to help find out balances and overpowered/bugged things. You will need a working version of Starcraft Brood-war with Multiplayer capabilities.
6. Uhh, I'll post any other help I need while the map is in building.

I've got Amaru and Daevos down as the main heroes for each team, Daevos being a Wraith and Amaru a Scout. Fine this way? I figure they're the best fighters from their respective cities.

It would just work well with WC3 though. Human Celestines, (for the light!), Night Elf Seren (By the light of Elune/Mother Moon!), Undead Magnagorans (grarrghrhrhgh) and...Glomdoring orcs, I guess.

Quite a simple map really, do it in a fantasy type thing and make Glom/Seren really small, and have all the villages as battle grounds where you fight to control of. You spawn better units as you kill things, not as you build academies/hatcheries/nexuses (I hate that way, stupid LotR Maps). More villages you own, the more men you spawn and more money you get. THats how you should do it.
Plus, add Silvanus as a defiler to make the dark swarm to make zerg under it invincibile. You know you want too.

Maybe I'll make Silvanus a findy-hero for Geomancers or something, since he's not officially part of any guild.
EDIT: Oh yeah, if you want to be put in (and qualify ), I need the colour combination you want for your name...
Possible colours are:
Light blue
Yellow
White
Grey
Red
Light Green
A seperate colour for your title and for your name would look best. I know, not many choices, but I have to work with what I have. You can have different letters as different colours too, not just whole words. I'd prefer that Magagora stick to darker colours and Celest to lighter.

I've actually considered this. I might do it. I used to make a bunch of maps when I was bored. Was fairly good at it!

And, obviously, Naga = Celest, Magnagora = Scourge (and demonblood orcs) Night Elves = Serenwilde (And glomdoring!). Pretty cool, really. Very doable, and would be interesting. Especially given the mechanics of the Inner Sea struggle, the Hart/Crow thing. Even Vernal Gods.
