Yes, but they aren't, and it obviously isn't going to happen either, so let's not make the most powerful archetype (mages/druids) even more powerful.

Spoken by the guy who only worries about abilities that can be used against him. The same man who told me that elemental Warriors should do more damage out of one side of his mouth, then changed up when he experienced the damage for himself. Truthfully, you are too biased to even be taken seriously sometimes.

I'd like to see Twirl be a geyser equivalent. Or hexagram equivalant, but that might be asking for a bit much
Ceres2005-06-09 06:35:26
I want newbiekick to be a sap equivalent.

...

Sometimes you make it so tempting to ignore you.

Asking for a way to knock a single person out of the trees is obviously overpowered. Good thing we can't do that. Unless we shove, or treebane. Gods forbid we get a skill we might use to bypass clinging. One besides treebane. One that is also made useless by an enchant we can only strip at random.
Gregori2005-06-09 07:51:27
You mean like Hexagram?
Nayl2005-06-09 08:05:39
Because everyone has hexagram.

You can't. It's highmagic.
Nayl2005-06-09 08:33:15
Shiri.... that was my point.
Read into my three line posts, there's much sarcasm.
Your one liners only seem to take it literally, stop for a second before posting.

Okay then, give hartstone and blacktalon the druid swing, have them twirl their staff every 2 seconds as a faeling to throw all enemies in the room prone and off balance, and see how much fun that'll be!

Geb will be bitching again that his demesne isn't "up to par", and that it's the weakest of the realm, everyone else will be bitching cause they can't get in a single frickin' attack against the druid, and hartstone will be saying it's the first step, but that it's now time for a better cudgel.
Gregori2005-06-09 09:39:09
Note I said Prone would cause alot of screaming. I don't think it should work on everyone in the room if it was put in regardless, it would have to remain targetted.

I know not everyone has hexagram. I was being sarcastic about an overpowered skill which renders the fact that Druids are designed to fight in the trees, useless.
Nayl2005-06-09 09:51:50
Yep, Thorgal, targetted, easy way to balance it.
Thorgal2005-06-09 10:40:09
Um, untargetted it would be overpowered in team situations, targetted it would be overpowered in one vs one situations...how is that balanced?

And Gregori, climbing up into the trees takes no balance, why are you complaining about hexagram?

Actually, Geb does not bitch about his demesne not being "up to par". Geb states that they are all pretty easy to deal with on their own terms. Also, all twirl abilities are targeted in some for or another. Either it only does something for the staff wielder, or it performs an attack on the staff wielder's target. That being the case, my suggestion was balanced with the idea that it would only knock prone the one person targeted by the druid.
Thorgal2005-06-09 12:24:21
So with faeling balance, knocking someone down and off balance over and over is balanced, cause it only works on one target at a time?
Elryn2005-06-09 12:25:31
Can't warriors knock people down?

Edit: As in, does the 'overpowered' ability already exist?

Knocking a person prone once every 2.6 seconds is not overpowered. Baring any hindrance, a person can stand up immediately. Demesne abilities, effects and runes or motes, are on a 10-second cycle. So the hindrance can possibly hit twice in a 10-second cycle, if the druid has fused paralysis, epilepsy, stupidity, or daydreams. Also, if the faeling is only twirling his or her staff, then he is not performing any other actions. Really, the faeling slinging runes would be more of a hindrance than him knocking a person prone every 2.6 seconds or so.
