City/Commune Leadership

I've been wondering this recently, and I needed to find out an answer for myself rather soon. Chade is not going to be Marshall. Visaeris was booted. Nayl got GC. So I'd have somewhat of a competition from one person only.

I'm here from 9-12 at night, pst. Barring what you think of me, do you think, in general, a commune can be lead on three hours a day during off-peak (USA, it's peak for Austrailia and some places) hours?

I'm thinking about running, but I wouldn't want to hurt the commune and have people pissed off all the time at me.

Nayl is going to quit GC and take CL. It was the intent. CL contention was made PRIOR to the CL contention.

EDIT: In otherwords, no. You're GA. Ebonguard needs you.
Richter2005-06-08 19:50:10
That's why I said I'd have one person contending. Unless the election is already ove.
Erion2005-06-08 19:50:58
I wouldn't get in, if Nayl is staying in the contestion. Again, see the edit.

Ebonguard need you.
Erion2005-06-08 19:51:41
Who's the other person? Nayl, right?

I can't get on ATM to see, given I'm stuck at work.
Richter2005-06-08 19:59:24
I said in general, can it be done.
Manjanaia2005-06-08 20:06:09
Answer to the question, yes. Answer to you? Ebonguard needs you. Unless you want to hand it down. I think there are people capable of doing it in the guild, but not as capable as you. And no I don't mean myself, I'm not much.
Erion2005-06-08 20:07:00
Not the Glomdoring.

(Sorry, read it in fractions, phone keeps ringing. I TOLD THEM THE DAMN E-MAIL SERVER IS FLOODED)
Erion2005-06-08 20:10:20
To expand (Sorry, this stupid bitch named Lucrecia KEEPS CALLING ABOUT THE SAME DAMN THING EVERY FIVE MINUTES, and I have to switch to my help-desk screen to put in a note that she called) on what I said.

Glomdoring needs a Marshall who's there, hands-on, and a good fighter. Let the GAs and GMs worry about inter-commune affairs. Glomdoring needs someone who will draw the crowds, and inspire people. Something that, right now, Nayl can't do. But, given time, and once people see how good of a fighter she is, it'll happen.

But people like Visaeris (And I) have pissed off alot of people in our attempts to get to the top. And I'm a cruddy fighter. tongue.gif

It can be done, but it would be hard to do properly. Chances are you'd be replaced relatively quickly.
Richter2005-06-08 20:20:03
I'd hand over GA to Adraunin or someone similarly deserving of it.

And Rhysus, that's just what I was somewhat afraid of.
Erion2005-06-08 20:23:10
I agree with Rhysus. I seriously just don't think you could do it. Nothing personal. I stand firm that we need a war leader atm.
Manjanaia2005-06-08 20:26:30
But who do you suggest?
Erion2005-06-08 20:29:28
Honestly? I hate all the options. Of Richter/Visaeris/Nayl, I like Nayl. Because she'll get knee-deep and not get a big head over it. And she's active.
Richter2005-06-08 20:32:34
Hopefully, Erion isn't insinuating that I'd get a big head over it. Getting Marshall would only make me have less duties, less cool positions, etc.

But, the answer to the question in general, so far, seems to be that it cannot be done.

Rhysus, Daevos, and Gregori, how much work goes into running your corner of the basin anyway?
Erion2005-06-08 20:32:50
I was referring to Visaeris, actually.
Erion2005-06-08 20:33:07
Not that it can't be done, but that it shouldn't be done.
Erion2005-06-08 20:33:33
And Rhysus isn't Prince anymore. tongue.gif
Richter2005-06-08 21:01:15
I'd get a more accurate answer out of him though, than Galvadore.

See, I read the news. *wiggle*

Here is what I'm thinking. It can be done, but you have to be able to log in when a big fight is going on. I.e., the time the leader is needed the most is during combat when decisions have to be made on what the goal and target is. Sure you can assign that responciblity to someone, but on the battlefield without that person having the communal title, it is too easy for the wrong peerson to start making decisions.
