So.. yeah. Is anyone here good at making maps? I've got tons of good ideas, mainly for a commune vs. city map. as if you had all 4 cities/communes, it'd be retarded and all the roles wouldn't fit exactly. I'm thinking a Glom vs. Celest map, complete with Ethelon (a darkness orb that you clickie to summon shuck, who's a black dog), Elerial (also with a couple fae), and then like.. Amaru (could have an angel summony thing).. and.. um.. Rafael.. or.. someone. It'd just work really well with the WC3X engine. And the X means frozen throne, for those of you who don't know. Also, anyone who has wc3/wc3x should post here/aim me at BlademasterRiyo, so we can play sometime! I like footies, tds, etc.

I've considered it. But I need to find my CD key, so I can install it on my Tablet. Anyone good at triggers?

Just as a few more ideas - use the NE Runner's skin for Rowena. The Champion artifacts will be easy - in fact, FAR easier than most of the characters themselves. tongue.gif Probably use gold as, well, gold, and lumber as credits. Not too difficult to change the icon and shadow-box for it.

Also, I'd run the whole "lesson" thing on an ENTIRELY different setup than leveling. I've played a few good RPGs (Quest!) which did it like that, and it worked fairly well. Abilities shouldn't be a problem, even things like thornwall (Just make it create an invisi ward, which puts out a very close slow aura - by slow, we're talkin -80 or so % movement & attack speed). Although it would take a LOT of effort for abilities like, totems. Which would just become irritating.

You only get *five* ability slots, a sixth one when you max out the skills. So, make Demigod-hood an ability, and throw in thunderclap, divine armour, ressurection in there. Unless we were going to creep into item slots, which could get nasty. Although I think our BEST bet would be to make human's an item they gain, no-drop, at level 50, which changes as they go up. Talk about a pain in the ass, since it's different for each archetype.

The reason for the seperate lessons scale allows things like "credits" to affect lessons. As you level, you do gain small amounts of "lessons". At certain points, you'ld be able to put them into a skillset.

I can't honestly think of a way to do combat/resilience/magic, while maintaining say planar/guildskill/guildskill/guildskill/low(high)magic. And on TOP of that, you have tradeskills. Which would be a prolem unto itself. Although you could make your tradeskill a building, and from there use ONLY credits to up your tradeskill.

One could run an ability in the building like metamorphosis for Illidan, where you put a coal into it, and it transforms (ie, a "hot" forge, versus a cold one).

Races:

Merian: Naga

Seren Elfen: High Elf

Glomdoring Elfen/fae: Night elves (decrease collision size for the fae). Regular Seren fae could just be wisps, or something? Or High Elf, decrease size.

Viscanti: Could use some NE characters, as long as they fit. Demons race, too. Satyr.

Igasho are just big humans, Krokani are ogre. Mugwump, Aslaran, Loboshigaru, though, all provide problems, as far as race goes. We've got dwarves, Tae-dae are obvious. Furrikin can be decreased size tae'dae. That is, Furbolgs.

Use Cenaurius' ghosts as the varying aspects of Hart, can give a increased size stag an aura that makes him glow, for the original Hart.

Moon doesn't have a body, really, so she's easily done. Night's does, but we can just use a Vengeance avatar, and slap on some more smoke if need be. Shouldn't need to, though. Drop it's size down, though. For Elohora we can use a bigger, sparkley Jaina Proudmoore. Methrenton can be a big Arthas-with-Frostmourne. Japhiel can be an Arch-wizard, and Shakiniel a spellbreaker.

Yes, I'm at work and bored.

Magic and all that is easy, unless they changed it just make it passive effects..I used to know how to stack buttons and make it so that they don't even show up. I think the easiet way is to alter auras to fit it. I will run a test tonighht, you can probably just click them and have real abilities in the button areas pending on how you invest them. going on this sceniro you could just have them reinvest all at each 5 level interval..anyways yeah good luck.
Erion2005-06-09 16:55:30
I know how to stack buttons and all, I guess I can do that. Actually, I totally forgot I can just dump them under move/attack/patrol. I'll probably do combat as a passive ability, w/ a chance to parry/dodge/counter depending on it's level.
Erion2005-06-09 16:57:14
Passive ability, because auras are a pain to shrink down so JUST the hero gets it.

What I'll probably do is give Moondancers a night-elf runner skin. When one of them becomes Priestess of the Moon/Admin/Champ/City-leader, I'll give them Tyrande's skin, with a slight variation of color/bow/glow-points or something, to note the difference.
Erion2005-06-09 17:00:19
I'd probably do the same for Druid of the Talon, making them Blacktalon members. Naga sirens for Aquamancers. Hmm. I might do Priests for Angels, ontop of some nifty angel-like skins I pulled online somewhere.

Wonder if I can find a good enough Illidan skin for Visaeris.

Self only, I am pretty sure thats an option. Anyways just use evade and thorns(with only a chance to return damage) for combat. Devotion aura for resilience(Under self only once more). Divine shield for Trueheal and max life+ temp con. I could go on but its your map.
Erion2005-06-09 17:09:18
Hmm. What about noteable characters? Would we make them unlockables, for those of us on Lusternia? They'd basically be the same thing, with a couple of throw-ins, because they're cool. When they're not being played by someone, they could just be basically patrolling commune/city guards.

The other thing would be villages. Would I want to set it up on an extremely random timer? Probably with parameters so a village goes up for influence every... 20-40 minutes? That then brings in the issue of influencing. Would I want to go into the trouble of making it an ACTUAL skillset? I'd probably make it an item. And just for city-rank influencing. Commune/city rank... How could I do that? Make it a -command, for city leaders? That would be a major pain.

How many people on a team? How many cities/forests? Would it JUST be Glom/Serenwilde, or Celest/Mag? Maybe advance the Story-line, and kill off one of our existing places. I mean, you get, what, 12 player slots? And you'ld be spending 1 per org. With the current setup, that's... What, 2 people a team? Maybe break it down to just Celest/Mag, and institute quests for the Night Coven/Disciples of Crow, and another for Moon Coven/Children of Hart?

But that would make things seriously gimped. Maybe make the two forests orgs, but rarely used ones? Accessable only via secret characters (Jairdain (sp?), Laysus, Erion, Visaeris, Guido, Ibaesha)?

That then brings about the issue of things like Vernal Gods, -save states. Would we want to institute something to let people save characters, and come back to them later?

It's a lot to think about. tongue.gif

Oh no. It's everyone's. tongue.gif If I get stuck making it, I need the input. biggrin.gif
Erion2005-06-09 17:10:13
And you punks get stuck testing it, by the way!
Erion2005-06-09 17:22:58
As to the secret characters thing. I probably would just make them and give -save states for them, if we went that route. But only one or two for each commune. Actually, three would be good. Erion/Visaeris/Guido for the Glomdoring, and maybe Ibaesha/Jairdain/Malicia for the Serenwilde? What about for Celest and Magnagora? I'm guessing Celest would be like Amaru/Rhysus/(who's a strong, well known paladin? Got me.). And then for Magnagora, we could have... Hmm.. Daevos as the Ur'Guard, Silvanus as the Geomancer, and Kaervas as the Nihilist?

We would also be able to do a few other things. NPCs in the Glomdoring (Gwynevere, Chade, Bau, Daganev) and NPCs in the Serenwilde (Gregori, Elryn, Merloch, Gwylifar) that give out quests.

We could probably set it up so each guild tutor sells guards. Guards would be sent to the Pool of Stars/Megalith first, the once that had a set number, they'd start going to the various exits, where issued the "hold" command. Probably give an ability at the various guildhalls to "invade", which would give a pop-up, letting them pick Mag/seren/glom, or whatever the three opposing cities are. It would send all of that guild's type of NPC warrior against whomever.

Pain in the ass.
