Let me recap. Arya's last seen (and I believe I read a chapter from this book, she's) at a temple of the Many-Faced God. He was the one who'd she saved, and gave her the coin. A very common theory is she's going to become basically a harlot-assassin. A very attractive woman who's talented to kill people before they know what's coming.

Jon's father is allegedly Ned, but I've my many, many doubts on that. As do a lot of people. Martin has repeatedly made the resemblance between Arya and Jon very clear - but also between Arya and her aunt, Ned's sister. Just as a jogger, their aunt was "kidnapped" by Raegar (sp?), the only real sane Dragonblood left, and heir to the throne, Danny's brother (Danny is... Daenaerys, something, the chickette with the 3 dragons. It's been upwards of two years since I read the books, sue me happy.gif).

The theory is their aunt and her alleged "kidnapper" fell in love. It was actually Jon that was discovered there, with his sister. I don't remember if the book says how she died, I believe they got there and she was dead/dieing. I think she talked to Ned before she died, I believe the book makes that clear. That leaves the opening for Jon to enter, and for Ned to be charged with the up-bringing. And the favouritism. A woman having a bastard child, especially of noble birth, was disgusting and horrible. But, for the story Ned and the woman he'd fallen for made up, it made a lot of sense, and far less dishonourable. It's expected of men.

Sansa was with Littlefinger, wasn't she? He's all obsessed with her, because she looks like her mother. Killed Sansa's aunt, too. Hmm.

I've forgotten where the Hound last was. Was he still in the Castle, when poor Tyrion was accused of something he didn't do? Not to say that it was most fitting end for everyone involved, I just greatly pity the dwarf, and hope something good comes out of it for him.
Daganev2005-06-09 20:14:56
Fain, don't worry, at the end of the third book Jon heads south to "deal with some kings"
Erion2005-06-09 20:20:12
Does he? I don't remember him heading south, just that the ravens came screaming out of the pot, "Jon Snow! Jon Snow!" And thus, he was made the head guy.
Daganev2005-06-09 20:28:23
look up the last line of the book. Its something like
"And now I have to go take care of some kings"

Also, I will be very dissapointed if Jon does not die by the end of the story. He's on the cover of everything!

Not everything. The second book was Stanos and the Red Lady. The third one was Caetlyn and her brother sending their father out, after he'd died.
Daganev2005-06-09 20:34:28
By everything I ment the first book, the board game, the colleticable card game etc.
Fain2005-06-09 20:36:07
Ok, here goes, I'm probably still wrong in some places.

Catelyn just woke up from being dead (and is still sorta dead) Beric, Thoros and the other members of the outlaws are with them at the Twins.

Jon is the Lord Commander of the Nights watch (Daganev where did you get that he was going south? Maybe I missed it) and is with the brothers and Stannis' army.

Tyrion left from Kings Landing with the Spider's help to sail east.

Sansa is with Piter in the Eyrie. She is hiding out as Alayna Stone, and is Lord Robert's playmate. Robert's mother was recently killed by Piter, blaming her death on the minstrel.

Arya left on a ship sailing east when she gave that guy the coin.

Bran and his gang are looking for the green seer or whatever, one eyed crow.

Jamie and the Lannister goons like Cersei are still at Kings Landing, and ol Joffrey is dead. Tywin too.

There are so many others.. bleh... I give up, Guess we will see what comes next biggrin.gif

Daganev we arent taking into account all the extended stuff, just focused right here on the books as they have been written. Honestly thats all I care about.
Daganev2005-06-09 20:39:34
I was playing the game of thrones board game which my friend just bought, and we were discussing the book, I had thought wrongly that Jon was still a wildling, so we looked it up and I read the last chapter. The last line/paragraph of that chapter made me think that he was going to go south.

For the "extended stuff" I just ment they are plastering his image all over the place like he's the main charachter, and what I liked about his books is that you can't really tell who the main charachter is. The main charachter is the whole continent/kingdom.
Fain2005-06-09 20:40:42
Game of thrones? Storm of Swords is the one we are talking about. Book Three.
Daganev2005-06-09 20:43:19
Yes, sorry to confuse you, I'm talking about two things at once.

If your not aware, Martin has licensed the book to Flying Fantasy Games, and they have a number of products that they sell, various games and such. I was talking about those products. These products have 0 connection with the plot or charachter develpoment of the story.

As for the Storm of Swords book, the last chapter on Jon the last line he says is "I'm going to take care of some kings" or "I have some kings to take care of"

Just for fun here is a cool link to an artists site where he painted pictures for the card games of all the characters... they are all pretty awesome and follow what my idea of them was perfectly.

Bran is no longer with his "gang". He left them behind, and got on the back of a white elk (I think), with a man swathed in black, who Bran thought was wearing black gloves. However, when he took his hand to get up on the mount, he realized it was no glove at all, but his hand.

Arya did leave on the ship. Tywin did die, by Tyrion, right. And his whore.

You're wrong here, Daganev. The king Jon was talking about facing was Stannis.

To quote:

"So Jon Snow took the wineskin from his and had a swallow. But only one. The Wall was his, the night was dark, and he had a king to face."
Erion2005-06-09 20:45:20
The reason for him being plastered on extended items has nothing to do with the plot. It's because he (and Arya) seem to be the two most loved characters.
Fain2005-06-09 20:45:37
EDIT: ninja.gif Ninjaed by Daevos!

Thats not correct Daganev.

The last line from Jon's chapter is:

The wall was his, the night was dark, and he had a king to face. (Stannis)

Right. Who was right there. Stannis wanted Jon to take the North, and be un-bastarded, crowned a Stark, and be King of the North, and help Stannis take back the kingdom, and then be a Warden of the North once again. Stannis then wanted to take over all of the Wall, and force the giants and wildlings to farm the land just south of the wall.

That will probably still happen, and the wildling (I forget his name, but he's not actually a wildling, but a turn-coat. Mayce? I can't remember, damnit! >.<) will probably be Jon's left-hand man.

Ahh, see, I have a hard time remmbering quotes... Yes its the "A King to Face" line that made me think he is heading south.
