Back to The Real World.

its hard to say, because everything is written from the perspective of individuals and theres not one source. I know the Starks viewed them as seperate gods and the followers of the Red Lady viewed them as one god, I don't remember what king landing's people thought.
Erion2005-06-10 02:50:22
Wait a minute. The Red Lady is the chick with Stannis, not a goddess. =\\
Erion2005-06-10 02:51:41
She's called the Red Lady because that's what she wears - she serves the Red Light or whatever, just like the red priest, Thoros? They view the comet like the return of their god of fire.
Daganev2005-06-10 02:52:41
Yes but everyone on Dragonstone was loyal to the Red Lady and not Loyal to Stannis. Remember the people being thrown off the presipice for not swearing loyalty to the red lady? Her real name is too hard to spell.
Erion2005-06-10 02:55:10
Yes. Sounded like you were making her out to be another god.
Daganev2005-06-10 02:56:20
I'm starting to feel really bad about anyone who hasn't read the books yet, we have so ruined it for them.
Fain2005-06-10 03:53:55
Nah, more like we have got them interested in it.

Yeah, that.

I'm going to look for e-books first, if anyone knows if there are any, and then have a look around if there are none. biggrin.gif

I've been waiting for this frickin' book for like 3 years, can't even remember!
I won't be getting it till next year though, damn sad.gif.
Erion2005-06-10 12:14:41
Hun, you'll be able to find pirated copies of it all over the web at least a week before it comes out. tongue.gif

Yea, I hope we haven't ruined it. Most of the SERIOUS leaks (Danny being the Dragon Queen, Caetlyn, Ned) are all very, very obvious. Or will be, when you get accustomed to the writing style. Same with Jon. It was fairly obvious, at least to me, that he was in line for head of the Watch.

Out of curiousity, what do you think will happen with the people on the Wall? You've Crassler's (sp?) daughter, Ginny?, that just had a kid, who's run off with Sam to the Wall. Then you have Jon, who has a bunch of criminals and a fat, blubbering lordling.

I'm midway through 'A Clash of Kings' (right when Renly gets hit by the magical attack).

I do love how magic and all the traditional fantasy things (dragons, etc.) have taken a back seat in the first 1200 pages or so of the books. Fun stuff.
Erion2005-06-10 14:50:52
The entire series is like that, really. Danny never over-uses her dragons, at least, not in the ways her ancestors did. She has a massive army, and uses them more to convert than dominate (although she does both). Her three dragons, however, even while young, could probably take out an army twice her size.

And, who do you think Danny will fall in love with? Her Father's Kingsguard, or Old Bear's nephew?
Fain2005-06-10 20:15:02
Jon. smile.gif If he is half Targaryen it will be just like the old days, incest!
Erion2005-06-10 20:16:15
It was a family tradition, which kind of also helps the suggestion they're related. Keeping the blood pure, and all.
Fain2005-06-10 20:22:15
Oh yeah.
Erion2005-06-10 20:23:31
Mm. Jon on Danny action. Although didn't Danny have some sort of prophecy, that she'd be in love with both her father's Kingsguard (Barriston the Bold?) and Old Bear's nephew (Wish I could remember his name... Jeras?)
Erion2005-06-10 20:30:41
Also, Tyrion. What now? I believe his eyes are mismatched, black and white. Which also corrispond to the colors of the Many Faced God, no? Wouldn't it be hysterical? Jon and Danny as King/Queen, and Arya/Tyrion as their court assassins? XD

DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN.

Finished A Clash of Kings and waiting for A Storm of Swords to arrive in the mail (note, I've read each of the first two books in less than a week each, and I normally don't read that quickly).

Yea, I knocked each of 'em out in about 2 and a half days each - I tend to read good books non-stop.
Unknown2005-06-16 18:08:13
I tend to read at most 60 pages an hour (which means... about 30 hours total so far in the first two books?).

3 hours a day for 5 days is just insane for me, what with working full-time, lol.
