Unblockable... it can be stripped. +2 STR is useless to me...
Maybe it should be more about being a Lich actually, but it's not currently because being a lich isn't -that- cool (when it comes to practical advantages, not roleplay).

+2 INT too.

And yes, that's what my point was. Upgrade liches, perhaps. Downgrade lichING, definitely.
Jack2005-06-12 02:37:04
Perhaps via accentuating the advantages they already possess? E.g., make lich touch do something USEFUL (maybe be on a seperate balance, like Nihilist sting, and suck health from the target/give them a random affliction), or decrease the power cost of contagion whilst a lich yet further.

Well, a random affliction might be a bit much, but something like that. Actually if it was a random affliction but on normal balance that wouldn't be so bad. Stacks with sting, and unblockable by resilience.

Or a frost aura that can be turned off and on for 3 power, chilling every declared enemy in the room every 8 seconds.

I'd think a lich would rather have the afflictions, but if that'd float your boat, I can't imagine it being terribly nasty. huh.gif

EDIT: Well, it'd be a bitch in teams.
Unknown2005-06-12 03:23:19
Considering how useful lichdom is, it'd have to be a huge upgrade to either offense or defense for it to lose its current effect of moving around as a soul.
Nyla2005-06-12 03:58:58
I am going to have to agree with Daevos and company. I think it has to do more with the dedication of the actual players than the skills. Hell Serenwilde can have a group sit at the Ethereal Moonhart to resurgem people during fights in Faethorn while Glomdoring has to pray when we die. Does losing experience stop us? NO...

Hell I died a good 6 times defending the fregging nest alone by Narsrim but that didnt stop me AND none of the Aspects were killed. (Although I think that was just out of pity)
Kaileigh2005-06-12 04:00:20
I have no problem dying for Celest. The problem I have is dying the third time in a row for Celest. Even in large groups I have seen all of us drop and maybe a few of them and they still pop back up to slay more of us. I've seen a single person take on a group and ghost away.

You have not bullied anyone recently.

That speaks for itself.

I nearly dropped from 70 to 65 in a week. I got so frustrated I blew a fuse a few days ago and had to remove myself from the game for a day to keep from doing it again.
Erion2005-06-12 04:01:00
You were congluting. Think of it as dieing 6 times, praying each time. That's about 40-50% loss. That's 3 or so levels down the drain.

From fighting on faethorn I have gone from level 58 to level 46. And there was some bashin inbetween there.

Also resurgem works on anyone with stag or moon specialization on the same plane. While Lich is a trans skill.
Erion2005-06-12 04:04:53
Now imagine everyone you're fighting not losing XP from death, and you're fighting them nearly non-stop. And there's just Seren v. Glom.

With Narsrim, Tuek, everybody on, and you, Kargnel, and Etanru. Imagine how quickly that'll be gross. tongue.gif Or even when top fighters are on. They don't lose XP.

QUOTE(Murphy @ Jun 11 2005, 09:15 PM)
Basically having lichdom up is a risk of getting trapped where you get a nasty eq loss on reforming. If you force a lich to reform in the same room as you, then you will have the jump killing it.
136779

But here's the thing. We already killed you. Why do I have to set you up to die twice to get credit for one death?

QUOTE(Murphy @ June 11 2005, 09:15 PM)
I'd be happy if lichdom was given a small xp loss, or at least gave the person killing them the pk xp bonus, I like the idea of being able to reform as a lich at will.

I think most of us would be happy, too. PK experience gain, vitae experience loss. Heck, I'd be fine with the lich being put straight into ghost, rather than a soul with a timer, just so long as you actually suffer a death.
Unknown2005-06-12 04:37:53
The problem with vitae level experience loss is you don't lose the ability to block them in with eye sigils, and lich really does become worse than vitae at that point.
Jack2005-06-12 05:12:46
So upgrade other aspects of lichdom, like Shiri said. Make the experience loss less than that of vitae, give the liches the ability to reform at will, add one or two nifty extra lich-exclusive abilities.

Please remind that to Serenwilde next time they raid Glomdoring.

They're quite different scenarios. Offplane, for one, so most of the raiders conglutinate.
Daganev2005-06-12 05:50:13
So raid Nil and Earth instead of the villages.

And I was not aware that Paavik and Rockholm were off plane.

It's a LOT harder to raid Nil and Earth instead of the villages. Besides, there's nothing TO raid on Earth, and the things on Nil are ungodly difficult.
Sylphas2005-06-12 05:57:02
And Rockholm has no guards and the Glomdorans threw themselves at us and died like lemmings last time. Not comparable at ALL.
Xenthos2005-06-12 06:24:14
Rockholm has guards. Amaru and Malicia were staring at them in awestruck wonder yesterday. tongue.gif
