On a sidenote, how did the last words thing work??

Because I missed the voting thing when Ashteru died and there was no way for him to know that I was a Soulless. Was his message totally random or... wait, I just remembered he was Elohora, maybe he exposed me?

Bah, the grudge will carry on!

But how was that for instincts/luck? I'd've ended up killing Erion and Navaryn, both Soulless, at some point as Magnora

It was worse with rhayni, she had all of us exposed. The scary thing is most of them were all random guess based on useless comments.

Tsuki wins too!  happy.gif

And Tsuki didn't kill BobStar, which does indeed make her feel better. Being Tzaraziko was ... odd.

And I had you convinced, too. Muaha. And Rhayni. Although she'll probably do something violent now. ninja.gif Whoops.
Tsuki2005-07-08 00:41:07
Convinced of what? That you were safe? By the time I told you I was Tzaraziko it was apparent that most people weren't being active, so I figured it'd probably end up a wash anyway.

And I'd've killed you eventually for making me Magnora. happy.gif

dry.gif Yeah, well, that was the price I had to pay for getting to imagine the expression on your face when you saw that. halo.gif

Something along the lines of this ... glare.gif

Except, not so round and yellow. And with hair.

I had fingered shadow, Xenthos, Abiella, Navaryn, and Ralshan as Soulless. I was wrong about Ralshan.

My reasons were: shadow's jump to accuse Ralshan as I stated the first day. As for Xenthos, he was way too ready to jump to defend shadow. Navaryn was a giveaway that I had hoped the next Magnora would kill. Abiella's post asking why shadow made my suspicions turn towards her. The reason I considered Ralshan was because of Xenthos, so that was a good play there. I still wouldn't have killed him. shadow really seemed the most suspicious so that's who I killed.

Oh and Shiri, I thought in the beginning you were Luciphage, but you did convince me differently. Still killing you was never within my thoughts. You knew my suspicions of who was Soulless though. doh.gif

Oh and to the Elders. It's too bad this game ended without seeing its potential. In future games if you are Elders, I hope you heed my previous warnings. Lack of discussion hands the game to the Soulless.

Just out of curiosity, did the added roles add to or subtract from the gameplay? I know people thought the Tzaraziko was weird, and the Yudhe/Magnora made people not talk, but considering that most of the time posts consist of "I'm a sheep. Vote whomever_everyone_else_is_voting_for_already," I don't think it actually changed dialogue that much from the community standard.

I'm just wondering if someone else would mind moderating with additional roles (which I'd really like to play) or if I should try making another game when I have the time, energy, and inclination to PM the people that won't tell me what they're doing at night.

Just wondering about your thoughts.

Tzaraziko and Elryn roles could be done without, I think. And maybe altering the Yudhe/Magnora to be secret ... the Magnora's vote counts double/triple/quadruple instead of being the one-and-only thing that matters (but, being secret, no one realizes it counts like that until the host writes out the advancement thing). Luciphage role seems interesting. Elohora's also interesting, but a bit limiting. Maybe if Elohora could do double-duty, protecting someone and scrying someone ... with some sort of limits.

Another factor in this game, I believe, was having no idea of the roles. Even a general thing of how many on each side, even if not all the specific numbers, might've set our minds better at ease. But if you have no clue of how many are arrayed against you, how can you even hope to guess possibilities of progress until it's all over and you've either lost or won? Part of the fun is making guesses along the way and seeing how correct/incorrect you were at the end. Making such guesses also makes for more discussion.

I'll host a TSG7 with added roles, unless anyone else speaks up before it starts and says they really want to do so instead. But I'll start the signup, at least. Only have one more final assignment due from the classes I've had this past month, and that'll have to be finished on Monday, when I'm starting the new class that (hopefully) won't be as intense. So I'll have time again. smile.gif

If you allow that in your game, don't make more than one Elohora or it'll make things too easy for Elders.

I gave you guys two Elohoras, so theoretically you could have had a Guardian and a Seer. Exactly what the Seer role does isn't really what I was after, and can be changed. Traditionally, the Seer only knows if someone is a Mafia (Soulless) or not, but not what role the have otherwise. I suspect this was because in the real-life, card game version the moderator can't communicate verbally without allowing everyone else to know, but after the fifth game, I realized that it prevents coalitions between Seers.

For those of you that didn't know, I and the other Seer teamed up, so we coordinated our scrying, had a group of proven innocents (Luciphage looking innocent would help prevent this as well), and got the Guardians to protect us. This means we could reveal ourselves without having to worry about the Soulless killing us, and we could only die if they managed to randomly kill our Guardians.

The only reason I had Elohora do both was to stop this sort of thing without losing %50 of the scrying power.

That's just my logic behind the construction and workings of the Elohora role. Incidently, I had reasons for each role in the game and ideas and theories about how they would interact.
