They are equal positions...
Erion2005-06-13 14:16:25
No they're not. GM is considered the Guild MASTER, the GA is the Guild ADMINISTRATOR, and the other is just the CHAMPION.

Master > Administrator > Champion, in Night's eyes. Master is her CHOSEN, meaning they have a link with Night. Night speaks to them, and no other, excepting the Avatars. Administrator is just pissing into the dark, and Champion gets to kill lots of shite.
Unknown2005-06-13 14:31:20
I like High Priest of Night... Not that I have much say. *grumble*
Erion2005-06-13 14:38:42
Sure you do. tongue.gif

high priest of night heh... you know what -I- dont get? Why the hell are the chamber names and the title different????
Unknown2005-06-13 16:09:30
We have multiple personalities?

I have a waiting room...teehee...
Unknown2005-06-13 16:39:51
Lord of Night works too, I guess.

Though I think you should keep Queen, just for comedic value.

Because the person(s) who built the GH and intended to take control are no longer with Lusternia. Or so was my understanding. So guildranks were changed when someone else took over, but not the building, as other things (bank, post office, shops) were of more importance.

That said, I actually like the titles from the guildhall far better than the guildranks

Viravain appointed remaining -

Daganev
Jasper
Ethelon
Nyla
Richter

Who will be the last one standing?
Unknown2005-06-13 16:54:30
Jasper. He'll never be replaced. EVER. Because we love him too much.

Jasper. My bet is Nyla'll go next, unless Ethelon, Daganev, or Richter back down. Ethelon'll be third, then maybe Daganev then Richter.

Jasper'll only be replaced when he quits. There's just no other way. And, the remaining people are probably relatively static, barring retirement/quitting. I see Syrienne, Etanru, Yukari as far more likely to be removed/replaced than any of the remainders - Yukari the least of them.
Manjanaia2005-06-13 17:18:01
I reckon Dag will hold on because there doesn't appear to be a suitable replacement. Perhaps Adracunin. But I reckon he'd make a better GA. If daganev stepped down I'd like to see Richter take GM and Adracunin get GA. But that probably wouldn't happen.

Originally I believe the Shadowdancers were intended to mirror the Moondancers more than they currently do. That said, I really like High Priest(ess) of Night (and isn't that what the GH suggests the title originally was anyway?) and, Etanru, you know, it's been said before that if you dislike guildrank names you can ask your patron to change them.

King/Queen of Night is stupid either way as New Celest already has the monarchy bit going on with their Prince(ss)/Queen/King titles for city leader (given that Celest has enough villages). King/Queen really isn't a title that's befitting of the position. Just go back to High Priest. You know you want to.

As for the titles of the GA/GM/GC rooms being wrong/different, if it bugs you that much, just typo or bug it. Or ask Viravain (or Quilestra?) about it.
Desdemona2005-06-13 17:45:09
Change the title to Notorious Incubus of Night's Grasp.

Given the histories, I'm somehow doubtful that "King" follows "Prince." Emperor sounds more likely.
Silvenae2005-06-13 17:56:10
Actually, maybe you're right, Rhysus. I'm probably just losing my mind. (Although in all fairness logically prince would lead to king. Oh well.)

Please, read the histories. Rowena was the QUEEN of Night, Gwynevere was her successor. Sigh. Night's Chosen, as far as has been able to be told, was a female, and she's always worn the Crown of Gloriana, which was twisted by the Taint (and a ritual by Rowena) into the Ebonglom Crown.

Thus, it makes sense for a monarchy role within a guild.

And, as Rhysus said, Celest is an empire.

A prince isn't necessarily the son of a king. A principality is a form of government, like a monarchy, except it's ruled solely (or jointly) by a prince.

Prince of Shadows and Prince of Darkness are worse titles than the High Seer of Darkness and the Tide of Darkness, if you ask me. Tide of Darkness is just such an awesome GC title. wub.gif

I always liked the Tide of Darkness, but not the High Seer. Meh, I suppose I have more to think about if I decide to change the guildranks.
