I know HELP CUSTOMIZATION is an Achaea carry-over, so I'm curious. Can we have our athames/cudgels/staffs customized, set non-decay, etc? Same with things like torcs. Also, for pets like Dragon Turtles, Wyrms, Crows, Stags, and maybe the three specialization Fae, and your angel-companion?

Just out of curiousity. Was wondering about it over AIM.

I've long since dreamed of being able to get my demon customized. Wow, the awesome potential of that cloud9.gif wub.gif

Strangely I emailed Estarra requesting this just today.

Basically, HELP CUSTOM is right, and anything else is impossible.

So, I can get my subterfuge snakes, chivalry falcons, grove golems AND beehives customized?! AWESOME.
Unknown2005-06-12 23:03:26
They let Clerics in Imperian customize their angels and it's been hugely popular. cloud9.gif

There's a thread somewhere about Envoy-approved customisation of things. I wish.
Sylphas2005-06-13 22:57:09
The thing is, those things that can be customized are all static. Stags, Angels, etc, are different each time they're summoned. Same reason you couldn't customize woodlore animals or occie ents in Achaea.

The answer is yes, but I'm not sure for loyals.

Sierus already has both of his maces customized with cool attack messages, and I think one or two people have random other things. His goal is to have everything in his inventory as non-decay. Sadly, he's rather close...

you can get custom attack messages??????? I didn't know that! Me want
Sylphas2005-06-13 23:14:06
You can? God, I'll need a whole seperate set of triggers to fight Murphy then. sad.gif

A problem with a custom entity is twofold. One, if it dies then you won't summon it again until it comes resets, which sucks. Two, resetting is a problem. If it resets to you then you don't have to recast it, which sort of defeats the power costs and so forth. If it doesn't reset to you then you will have to keep resummoning it, which sucks. Combine the two, if when you cast it and your custom loyal is dead and it then brings you a generic one then if it resets to you, there is the possibility of having two ents with you, which is why you would not be allowed to summon until the custom ent reset.

Plus it would take a bunch of extra coding time.

Well, I would totally pay 100 credits for a custom ent. I hope that you guys take the time to get it to work some day smile.gif
Amaru2005-06-14 00:15:39
Yeah, the advantage is that with a price like 100cr, you guys would get bombarded with requests.

More work? Appoint envoys to approve them. Envoys who put out bad designs can get removed. Gods appoint envoys....
Erion2005-06-14 00:22:09
Aye. And, can't you set it so that, when someone pays (100cr, 200cr, whatev), that when they STARCALL COMPANION, it summons mob# whatev, instead of just a generic?

Of course, that's a lot of nasty coding, I bet.
Kaileigh2005-06-14 01:41:29
Ah the requests for crackhead birds that alter reality or are made of paper.
Erion2005-06-14 02:12:02
Sweeeet.
Yrael2005-06-14 02:27:57
The variety would be startling if we COULD customise loyals. I'd like to see what Moondancer Fae would like like.
Elryn2005-06-14 04:09:07
How do custom attack messages work?
Richter2005-06-14 04:59:18
I have a custom loyal! Only took me 900cr!
Aebrin2005-06-14 08:39:48
Heh, I emailed Estarra before about Customization.

The go is that providing the item is still the same noun, you can customize it.

Ie a bottle cannot become a keg.

So I want a Customized Spatula, but I can't make it a BBQ fork...

So I can give it a proper name, eg The Spatula of Forkness, and say it is a spatula shaped in the shape of a BBQ fork.
