Dreamweaver guards?

so elryn is being annoying at the megalith and i was thinking it would be cool if there was a special guard that only attacks dreamweavers, since without guards its pretty much impossible to kill one unless you have like 10 kether's or violete's.
Elryn2005-06-13 05:50:18
Its not impossible, it only takes two or three for the strongest dreamweaver.

Dreamguards = death of dreamweaving.

I swear, for all that Serenwilde gets a reputation for whining, when the tables are turned...

Or, like, two. Or your OWN dreamweavers.
Marcalo2005-06-13 05:55:36
i was suggesting them for everyone, i think since some cities communes lack weavers of any ability weaver guards would be cool, or at least put a limit in how far you can travel from your body before you are instantly forced back, i would say 100 rooms at most would be good enough, weavers don't need to be in other citys/communes just being annoying. ANY WEAVERS
Silvanus2005-06-13 05:56:29
I'd say have infused guards hit a Dreamweaver for like 350 if they are in the room, no webbing thing. Just pure damage, no afflictions.
Marcalo2005-06-13 05:59:32
ya i wasn't thinking any afflicts just pure damage, about as much as a archon does or somthing.
Shiri2005-06-13 06:00:56
Maybe if it was only the infused ones, that wouldn't be so bad.

As long as it doesn't reveal them at all, and its rather slow, we could manage that.

It still is rather silly. There is no need whatsoever for it. A dreamweaver really can't do much damage to you unless you are totally unprepared and ignorant about dreamweaving.
Ialie2005-06-13 06:05:05
I think its rather silly myself.
Everyplace has dreamweavers just retaliate.
Elryn2005-06-13 06:13:59
Does anyone else see the irony in Magnagorans pleading for downgrades because they don't have enough dreamfighters?

Who we have two of, and are around very rarely.
Unknown2005-06-13 06:26:39
Elryn raised a valid point though. We have only a handful of good fighters, so should we get something to counteract your hordes of them?
Xenthos2005-06-13 07:00:04
That's not really an argument...

Unless you want to give us all your good fighters to counteract your dreamweavers. biggrin.gif

Note that I'm not commenting on whether having some way to deal with dreamweavers is needed or not, just that statement.

What he means is the point certain Magnagorans (cough, Murphy, Daevos et al.) use the argument that just because Celest sucks so they keep getting stomped into the ground by Magnagorans doesn't mean Magnagoran skills/position/whatever should be downgraded.

It's also equally applicable to say that just because Magnagora doesn't have the dreamweavers/people with Kether to stop dreamweavers bothering them at their Nexus, it doesn't mean dreamweavers should be downgraded, whether directly (skill nerfing) or indirectly (guards that stop them doing things.)

There are counters available. The situation is much the same. It just SUCKS when you're on the wrong side of it, DOESN'T IT!? biggrin.gif
Elryn2005-06-13 07:04:10
As far as I know, there is ONE dreamweaver on the offensive from Serenwilde. I have achieved the desired result, having Magnagora -really- consider me an enemy.

I was not offering an argument, either, I was simply pointing out the irony.
Unknown2005-06-13 07:10:47
No but it is a good argument Elryn.
Syrienne2005-06-13 07:13:28
I find Dreamweavers to be pretty managable myself. They never really caused me much distress they're just an annoyance.. perhaps if DWs began to team up with 2 or 3 hitting you at once I might call for some better way to counteract them.. cause nightmare is pretty rude and if one kept you down while the other nightmared or both nightmared it could be pretty deadly.
Yrael2005-06-13 07:15:33
Laneth: Your statement disagrees with my vision of how things should be, and, as such, is wrong.
Elryn2005-06-13 07:16:19
Agreed that a dreamweaver team can be powerful, Syrienne. I'd like to see if that will be unbalanced, but as of yet it really hasn't been an issue.

Of course, if you know how to prevent a single dreamweaver hurting you, the technique will work equally well against 50.
