Of course, if you know how to prevent a single dreamweaver hurting you, the technique will work equally well against 50.

No it won't.

To be honest the thing I find most annoying about DWs is the inability to know if one is there. They make the most effective spies because they can slip into enemy territoory and listen in, listen ot Mags plan a raid or Gloms prepare to raid Faethorn or something like that. The damage end of it is debatable but I hate their sneakiness mostly.

Just make motes that'r embeded in a demesne, hit Dreamweavers. Though maybe having the ability to close off the enterances to your main enterances to communes and cities, like gates and such, would be ok.
If there were dream guards, they'd have to be pretty sucky and in the next version of upgraded guards, if we ever get them, i mean we could have Lich Orclach Bonecrushing Ur'guard, and like Lich Apostates and such and such, having their skills incorperated more in to the type of guards. Like the next version for the Wiccan guards could be the Crone/Slaugh and such.

Laneth: Your statement disagrees with my vision of how things should be, and, as such, is wrong.

Mmm I see your point. Shiri can you please delete all posts opposed to Yrael?
...Laneth wants a hug.

That's what it's for. Supposedly illusionists are able to do that, but it doesn't actually work that way, heh, so be glad it's not -all- mages.
Syrienne2005-06-13 07:22:30
I agree gates would be kind of cool, I personally found the way Imperian setup an entire siege system was pretty impressive. Thats good stuff.
Unknown2005-06-13 07:22:49
Make blue stop them from hearing what they say, or have it "You see open their mouth and a mass of blue Chakra comes out from it." I dunno >.>
Yrael2005-06-13 07:26:15
Or, just to see, add a skill in Discernment that tells you if a Dreamweaver is in the room. Not who it is, or if they leave, just if one is present.
Unknown2005-06-13 07:29:10
Mmm that would be kinda harsh to dreamweavers, it would make a whole skillset useless.
Unknown2005-06-13 07:29:22
Chuck a variant form of Sleepsense in Discernment, which instead of showing sleeping, shows Dreamweavers and where their dream bodies are, not their real bodies. Like Myth or something, and put sleepsense in environment!

Unknown2005-06-13 07:30:38
Uhh Yrael's suggestion is better then mine, it says, if they are there, wasting balance or eq, doesn't tell you who they are, but just one is there. It'd be worse then what ever they are now.

I mean, eat kafe and trigger wake. The worst a group of dreamweavers could do is sap you to 1 health, channel out all your mana, and give you a few mental afflictions. But as long as you have kafe up, and triggered wake, they cannot kill you.

They could strip kafe, or just get you so damn tired you can't stay awake constantly. And then trigger possess or something. Or nightmare. It's possible to possess someone in solo, so it's obviously possible in a team.
Elryn2005-06-13 07:41:48
I'm fairly sure you cannot strip kafe.
And trust me, getting to exhausted doesn't change the effectiveness of kafe+triggered wake. I've tried.

You can strip kafe. Just slumber or something while they're already asleep. I guess it turns it into a race on whose triggers are faster or something, eh. It can be done though, absolutely. A team of two can just coordinate it so they do it at the same time.
Unknown2005-06-13 07:49:14
Actually, it'd be cool if, i dont know what the trans ability in Environment is, but if for like 10 power, if there was a Dreamweaver in the room, you could force them back into their dreambody at your location, or just force them back into their dreambody. Either or.
Unknown2005-06-13 07:52:20
Forcing them into their dreambody would be fine I think, giving their body to you would suck.
Elryn2005-06-13 07:55:20
If its delayed, and forced bodysnap, fair enough.
Edit: Would love to see what upgrades come to balance the downgrades though.
You also have to realize phase guards would hit ghosts as well as dreambodies.

Unknown2005-06-13 08:04:55
Well the bringing it to you, would be delayed at 10p, the forcing them to bodysnap, would be 5p and maybe or maybe not delayed.
Elryn2005-06-13 08:07:27
No. Forced coalescing would be too powerful. (Unless dreamweavers have a way to vapourise someones body and leave their spirit in the dreamworld until they find their way back to their nexus. *hum*)
