Alger was using it on me underwater at one point... totally neutralizes your offense as it can't be healed in any way other than smoked myrtle (well, besides allheale and allheale-esqe abilities), including focus mind, and you can't smoke pipes underwater, so I had to keep running to the surface to smoke, which was rather ridiculous.

It really kinda unbalances underwater combat IMO because it totally stops everyone it hits from doing actions that involve the arms (which is pretty much everything except Dreamweaving).

So... could something be done about this? At the very least, let us smoke arti pipes underwater?

Except that those can be cured by focus mind, so they're not that bad. This can't.

They can be cured by allheale or a skill in healing or syphon/(celestialism equivalent) or that Moondancer skill.

I don't think it's a big deal, there should be difference when fighting in different terrains. What is the point to coding it otherwise?

Allheale is extremely slow, and all those other abilities take balance/equilibrium and are also slow, and piercearm is very easy to get off, plus not everyone has those skills. I don't find it fair that I have to run to the surface just to cure them and be able to fight again.

EDIT: Not to mention that you can have multiple pierced arms and multiple afflictions that those things could cure.

Actually, no skill in healing cures pierced nerves currently. Or hemiplegy. I think the skills were using kombu as a base and got messed up when the afflictions were moved out of it.

Anyway, focus mind is a lot more fair to use as an example than a guild skill.

I find it more lame that an Aquamancer can be fully disabled in his own terrain, with just that one affliction. I guess the same applies for a Geomancer in the Sea of Despair, but anyway... yeah, change is good *points to above posts* (but what about the poor people who can't afford artifacts???)

i dont know how this should be fixed. I also think i shouldnt be able to do that as shamarah said it was pretty lame. I was fighting geb and shamarah underwater and my advantage was too big. Id just severe both nerves on one switch target severe both nerves on the other and i had it made.

Id want there to be an alternate cure but its already difficult to stack afflictions as a warrior under normal circumstances and adding an alternate cure with a different balance would just cause a problem in another area. Id recommend restoration but with the way restoration works at the moment that doesnt really fix anything. Id agree with the pipe suggestion if it made more sense, magical water bongs heh.

Also there was something dodgey earlier. For some reason i could tank both shamarah and geb. Geb dealt 675 damage per staff and shamarah did 610. Thats way below their normal damage to me (1.9+k each under their setup) and i dont think i have any additional defences that could have caused that. I have the log at home ill post it later.
