Just a thought, and yes its because I'm annoyed after village influencing... but could the ego chanting skill work like Healing does? That is,
- if used on yourself, it takes your own mana and converts to ego (as it is now), and
- if used on another, it takes your own ego to bolster someone else's.
That way, ego-shattered chanters can be removed from a debate/influence situation.

I'd like that idea if it was combined with not being able to maintain a sanctuary or cruscade while having a shattered ego

Ah, so you want Serenwild and Celest always forced to team up? You can stack 4 chanters on someone, and we'll never debate them out. We can stack 3 levels of regen, which isn't nearly as useful.
Active > passive.
Active > passive.

Something could probably stand to happen to divert, too.

It would be nice if the communes got something equivalent to Laetitia, it's such a low level ability that any novice or newbie can have access to that plays such a huge role during village influencing. The only thing we can even have equivalent is Light Coven that takes 3 members and merely regenerates ego passively, nothing compared to having 3 to 4 chanters.

Eh, those villages are just mini, wannabe-cities. You commune sorts shouldn't want anything to do with them, anyway.

I think the theory is that Moondance Light is our equivalent. I'm not going to speculate on ways in which it is or isn't an equivalent.

Laetitia is no problem.
When you get to/past a certain point in a debate, you'll be one-hit "killing" them anyway.
