I guess one day they may expand outside the Basin.. make it a sort of Demi-god/Vernal God kind of exploration place.. needing to be awful powerful to even begin to journey there. That'd be neat.

Well, there is one thing we know - there is a settlement of humans somewhere outside the Basin.

Estarra came to Lusternia with 3 groups, 2 settled inside the Basin, Delport and Stewartsville, but the third chose to migrate outside, and havn't been heard from since. So, either their dead, or they're doing really really well, or they're mutated and as good as dead

I'd like to see some really high level areas outside the basin.. Maybe with like an unresistable health drain due to the poison of the land.. Perhaps have a village of some people that have found a way to survive, and add a quest there that allows you to gain a temporary protection.. Plus add a whole bunch of nasty nasty creatures in a sort of badlands area.. normal stuff completely warped and strengthened by the raw taint..

I don't think the areas outside the Basin are infused with raw taint. They're just burninated. Like that lava planet Anakin fights Obi-Wan on.

Wait a minute, the Skarch Desert is slightly outside the Basin.

The outside Basin was infused Taint - although more of the Wasteland you see in FF:SW >.>

If you walk outside the Basin you fall off the world, because -obviously- the world is flat.

Well there is one area that's almost outside the basin (which I always though was the area protected by the ring of mounatins...) and thats the Skarch Desert. I mean Skarch is the furthest south area so it's probably hot there anyway, but its a bit of a coincidence that the only area kinda outside the basin is a desert...

Maybe there will be some new passes discovered through the mountains, or some brave soul will eventually reach the desert edge and the coast. Something I played... Dungeon Siege I think, had a desert where you had to wander in one direction through the desert for about 15 mins and then you'd find a pyramid, if you were off by a few degrees you missed it totally, something like that would be cool

The Basin of Life is an Island, I'm almost certain. The Marne Sea surrounds at least the north/northeastern part.

I think it said in the history that when fat-ass Kethuru was hugging the world with his big-ass boobs, the Basin was protected inside a pocket of Kethuru's flesh, whereas everywhere else was ravaged.

Actually, I think it said there several pockets, but as his skin contracted, races, cities, Vernal Gods, were wiped from existance. Our 9 were able to hold Keturu back the longest - they final sacrificed themselves et al.

See, I knew it! Conspiracy. The Gods are hiding something from us.

I have a feeling if we peeked over the side we'd see the whole pantheon sitting around a table playing poker.

Fain is leading you astray, do not listen to him! There is something of great treasure beyond the basin, and you will not fall off into oblivion. Just to be sure though, I nominate that we send all the guild novices first.
