Hmm, inhabiting their own pocket, eh? That could be interesting to see if any such thing comes about in the future.

What do you mean in the future? That's exactly what Celestia and Nil are. The Supernals and Demon Lords can't leave those planes, but they're very powerful on them.
Erion2005-06-16 14:39:47
They can't leave them, or it's very difficult for them to? Wasn't Gorgulu trying to get to Prime?
Lisaera2005-06-16 14:41:40
I think you're getting what you wanted to happen confused with what actually did happen. Gorgulu wasn't trying to get anywhere, except into some dark corner where he could rock his semi-gelatinous body back and forth.

Oh, I thought you meant mobile pockets. To protect them from the Taint or somesuch. Rogue half-formed beings seem a very interesting concept, that's all. Like NPC demigods. You know, out beyond the Vault. Er, mountain ranges. ninja.gif

See, I was cityless at the time, so I was living off leaked information. From mags, that is. It was said Gorgulu was trying to break free to Prime, to start consuming more.

But the fetal position is just as cool.
Manjanaia2005-06-16 14:55:47
I thought the half-forms could leave their areas? Like when the Supernals went to Shallamar. And... didn't the Emanations briefly go to Earth about the same time?

Iunno, could they be like druids - superior in their bubbles, but outside, they're much weaker?
Unknown2005-06-16 14:59:58
The demonlord's were the supernals of Shallamar, before the taint turned them into demonlords. The supernals from Celestia never went to Shallamar, and even themselves told me once they couldn't leave their pillars.
Lisaera2005-06-16 15:01:13
The Supernals were made in Celestia and have never left Celestia, the Emanations (now Demon Lords) were made in Shallamar (now Nil) and never left Shallamar.

Anyway, this thread has gone somewhat off-topic I think, so let's steer it back on course. Shikari sucks!

What did Shikari do, when he found out that Glomdoring was tainted?

No way. Even if he sucks, it'll be the good kind *cough* I mean, he just pervades raw sensual and physical power. Lisaera's a crazy chick with leafs in her hair.

One last bit on the hijack:

GORGALIEL: The Fates exist above and beyond even our knowing, gentle mortals. They come and go of their own choosing and their own time. And time does not exist for them as you would understand. As you know, the Holy Emanations of Shallamar and Holy Supernals of Celestia are beings bound to our respective realms as surely as Light is bound in Love. Yet, we feel a power that vibrates above our cosmic existence and give our blessings that this power can be brought to heal your lands. Now, if you will excuse me.

From the histories. So, yea, like the Lizard said, can't leave.

Although they CAN leave their pillars - they defend each other, and came to the Stone of Truth. Just not their plane of existance.

GLOBGLOB: Timmie? How's the Stone look on the Higher Plane of Shallamar?

TIMMIE: It's glowing like crazy, Globglob! The Prophets here are smiling from ear-to-ear and all five of the Holy Supernals have turned out to watch, surrounded by a host of angelic beings.

Good question. I have not yet learned much about Shikari, but I'm a little concerned if we're now establishing some kind of connection between predation and taint. For us predatory folks who believe that to be a vital part of nature's cycles and balances, this is kind of a smaller version of the upset of the faelings when their culture got pulled out from under them.

If you look at the three communes as a spectrum, Ackelberry's snuggle-bunny forest-paradise sensibilities at one end and Glomdoring's twisted and dark tone at the other, with Serenwilde in the middle, predation in my mind firmly belongs in the middle, because predation is precisely the fulcrum of balance -- that death is part of life's cycles, and should neither be ignored (as a snugglebunny would) or exalted (as a dark macabre person would) but included in the balance.

Of course in the end, predation as a part of nature is just not a big part of Lusternia, and the predatory races are few and deprecated. I was all right with being on a fringe, a lonely voice. I won't be happy if predation comes in the back door and ends up being something that just doesn't make sense. Oh well, I can hear the replies from the faeling threads, just embrace it as something to struggle against, because gods know we don't have enough of that already.
Erion2005-06-16 15:25:06
Shikari doesn't seem to care. He's here to protect Viravain.

I imagine that's a typo - they meant the Emenations, who live there. Why would the Supernals be present, and not the bubble-natives?
Manjanaia2005-06-16 15:29:02
Psht. I still win.

And in my defence, 'turned out' suggests to me that they have come a long way to see it.
Erion2005-06-16 15:29:44
Shikari's post:

I am Shikari, the Predator, brother to your Patron, the Lady Viravain, and recently returned from the Void beyond this place you call The Basin.

At present, I am endeavoring to learn as much as possible about My sister's creation, and intend to work relentlessly to ensure that it reaches it's full potential.I have had enquiries about My Order - it shall remain closed, until I establish which of those who wish to join meet My criteria. However, I welcome those who wish to learn of My beliefs.

For now, my sole request is that you give your total loyalty to Glomdoring, to both the Commune, and your Communemates.

I typed all that >.> Damn Java. Anyway, from what I'm gathered, he's a win-by-any-means-necessary sort, too.

It's a rare sight for a supernal or demonlord to leave their focal points. How often does Shakaniel, Raziela, Elohora, Japhiel, and/or Methrenton meet at the Pool for tea and krumpets?!
Richter2005-06-16 16:44:48
I like what I've heard of this guy so far, he's my type, kind of the lone hunter thing going on. It'll be interesting to see how my character develops with the new god around. He's already trying take Raezon's whole secrecy/knowledge thing, add in Roark's Ubermenche teachings, and keep following Crow with knowledge of Night as well.

With all these ideals going around, He's sure to confuse me...

That said, I'm going to go home tonight and make myself into a walking arsenal as well. biggrin.gif
