And we did ask for more conflict/fighting off-prime, remember?Â

Maybe you did. I think the people who didn't want that got overlooked.

I wanted the conflict to move off prime, I didn't say I wanted to have to get involved in it .

Are you referring to those who would like the conflict to stay on Prime, or those who prefer no conflict at all?
Gwylifar2005-06-18 18:44:48
I was referring to all the people who didn't think moving it off prime was a solution, which includes both of those and other combinations as well. In my own case, I'd just like the conflict to be managed -- not non-existent, but not exclusive of almost everything else. I can come up with a dozen pathways to doing that. One of them is making Avechna useful again, but it's only one of them.
Elryn2005-06-19 01:18:04
I really detest the conflict because it is so time-consuming. Serenwilde has to maintain a constant vigil to prevent all the Fae being slaughtered and the village tainted, and I imagine when it comes under Night's influence Glomdoring will have the same trouble.
I understand that the combatants enjoy having a semi-arena area to play in if they're bored, but it's really frustrating for me. I'm getting to the stage where I'm not going to respond when the Fae are being raided, just because I'm so sick of it. And that of course is totally different to the role I should be maintaining.
As Gwylifar said, the conflict is too exclusive to other things. It doesn't need to be removed completely, but I wish there was a way of toning it down. Either so that the conflict does not involve something so inherently sacred to our commune and more able to be viewed as a tactical resource, or alternatively making it require less violence or less constant attention.
I imagine Gwylifar has a thousand wonderful ideas that could be implemented.

I find it odd that there is 1 character from Glomdoring who enjoys it, and 6 from Serenwilde... I'd have thought it would be the other way around.

I think the whole Faethorn should be changed to a different type of forest and have it so both Serenwilde and Glomdoring have to forest before they can meld it. Also the area right outside the archways should be breakable.
Heh..it is breakable.
Laysus2005-06-19 01:30:50
I want to know who said yes from serenwilde so I can beat them with a big stick and tell -them- to spend all their time in-game sat in faethorn guarding the bloody fae.
Munsia2005-06-19 01:34:37
I havent voted yet but seriously laysus you have no reason to complain! I usually sit up there the entire friggin month
Laysus2005-06-19 01:37:48
Munsia: I'm usually around when you're not, and I spend 75%-100% of my time in game on ethereal. Plus when you're around, and I'm not, I tend to see you not on ethereal, and I am, surprise surprise. So don't tell me I have no reason to complain, because really I do.
Unknown2005-06-19 01:39:55
The archway demense spot isn't immediately breakable if you're smarter than your average cow.

Indeed I'm the one who taught that to Hartstone where to keep it broken
Elryn2005-06-19 01:45:17
I'm not quite so sure about that, I think a lot of people figured it out on their own.

dont ruin my moment
pssst. At least I was the first to think of it! (when faethorn battles became a big thingie)
Malicia2005-06-19 01:54:47
Alright, time for a display of ignorance. Do those from Glomdoring HAVE to kill the fae? Can't they sit somewhere and strengthen their baby commune before they try and take over the world? They want villages, power, Faethorn. Look at the state their guilds are in. The commune. The leadership. Are they serious? Why are you warring against Serens? Ignore the fae. Plant totems, train your fighters, stop sparring outside of the arena, weakening your low levelled fighters (that is just so stupid) and get things in order before you try to take on an established commune. It makes no sense to me.
I hate Glomdoring.
I hate Glomdoring.
Laysus2005-06-19 01:56:09
Since glomdoring, my enjoyment of the game in general has gone downhill lots due to the amazing increase in conflict that I'm made to participate in by my role in the game. Agreeing with Malicia in the Glomdoring hatred.
Munsia2005-06-19 01:57:42
Nyla created rituals that contain comitting suicide to thier avatars. And they were 'ordered' to spar out of the arena by nyla. (so says who I asked! it could be wrong)
Xenthos2005-06-19 01:59:18
See, I was overruled in the "try to strengthen ourselves first and foremost" area.
As for the sparring: I've been doing a fair amount of that in the arena to try and teach our novices, and dying more than a fair number of times to you when you come raiding. Well, it's practice at least, but it's darned old, and it sure doesn't make Xen want to sit back and preach about strengthening ourselves before attacking the fae...

Exactly, Laysus. I spend most of my time defending Faethorn. I can't hunt, hug trees, or whatever it is a Seren is supposed to do. Now, I love combat. Don't get me wrong. But from an ic standpoint, I don't like seeing Serens die. Laysus, Elryn, Munsia...they practically live on Ethereal, because of those idiot Glomdorians. Ethelon is about the only one I respect, but most of the time it's hard to talk to him due to that lovely temper of his.
Because of the attacks on Faethorn, I'm forced to raid Paavik (yes, forced. Payback is always required) and Rockholm and I've grown quote annoyed and intolerant of all people from Glom altogether. They're worse than the damn Mags. /rant
