That is funny.

Don't tell me Lolly was a male. I have been thinking of it as a her all the time. Don't tell me I can be so idiot as to not notice after reading all the histories!
Unknown2005-07-04 17:36:47
Um, as far as I remember reading, Lolly was indeed a male.
"You've just heard the blessings of an Exalted Being right here on these aether waves. Next to me now is our final correspondent, Lolly Pringle who you've probably heard on our morning broadcasts. He's been given the honour of joining the Cosmic Hope Expedition especially for this broadcast. Are you nervous, Lolly?"

A male named Lolly Pringle. Not snuggly at -ALL-...

Ahahahahah he was a MALE? I thought he was a female the entire time.

On a scale of 1 to 10, ten being the highest, the name Lolly Pringle for a male ranks a snuggliest of them all.
Xenthos2005-07-04 17:39:47
And thus we learn that the fashion of male furrikin having names that imply they are females is not just a modern phenomenon.
This is when I run away really quickly, right?

I'm going to laugh as Ackleberry returns to the realms as a dark, war-torn empire all its own, the ravaged, dank ironside woods shrieking with powerful, voracious beasts twisted by a tainted ecosystem. Its denizens will march upon the Basin, its warriors and casters battle hardened after years of hellish warfare, their flesh tainted and powerful, though they use its influence to fight the enemy.
The fires of Ackleberry shall spread across Magnagora and Glomdoring as a new commune of power rises to war.
Well... I think it would be cool either way...

Awesome pic! I am no longer the ruler of MS PAINT! I bow to you!

Well, there are going to be a bunch of people who expect it to be all cute an snuggly whether or not it makes any damn sense. It's like koala bears. (Which look cute and harmless, sure, but I'm told that to pick one up is a grave error.)
I had a fun idea for a raccoon furrikin based on the concept of raccoons not actually being very nice animals, but furrikin stats seem lame to me.

Ackleberry will not be all cute and cuddly... But it also will not be a commune of conquest... I personnally think war torn, and battle hardened in an eternal fight against the tainted half of its own forest, would be a perfect setting for it... As it returns to the Basin, an external leader, or force steps forward and stabalizes the war enough to unite tainted and non tainted... Thereby making it the bane, and savior of everyone all at once... Gods and mortals alike wouldn't know what the hell to think of it... Many would seek to cleanse it, which one half would never allow, others would seek to taint it which the other half would never allow, all the while both sides fight for the other, so as to maintain a balance of the forest to prevent the war from re-ignighting.... Damn, I got chills... I pray its somethin as cool as that, it'd make life there insanely interesting

Or based off the recent addition of a different now commune, this is what I see happening...
OMGWTF!!!one111eleven It's a new commune. C'mon Celest, let's kill it!
I'm not bitter. Not at all.
Edit: Since that wasn't supposed to be a total hijack, I think it would be really cool to have a half and half commune. It would help temper the snugglebunnies and it would be different. My impression thus far is that most people consider Glomdoring to be the 'evil' forest, Serenwilde is the 'neutral-but-not-supposed-to-be-snuggly-' forest, and Ackleberry is going to be the 'happy-coz-we-lurve-the-world' forest.
At any rate, I know our lovely admin will do something to make it interesting.

I had a thought like this in one of the newest polls in the other part of the forum. I basically said that they became the true master of the Taint, and maybe their victory came in conquering its effects and bending it to their own will, using the enemy's own weapon against itself.
It is a new kind of taint, and even a unique one for the unique situation Ackleberry found itself in. Maybe it isn't Taint anymore at all. And like I said in the other, they shun Glom even though Glom feels they may have some kind of bond and Seren shuns them in their greatest time of need in this world where the war they won elsewhere rages on...

I like to think (it's only my personal view) that Taint itself is just the energy/substance, which means it turns people into demons and has pollutive properties only because it's the leftover after Kethuru who has warped it and given it such properties. That means that Taint itself in it's pure form is neutral, just a force with potential of transformation waiting to be used. (If I was playing Lucidian I would probably make it my IC theory. )
Your idea makes sense then, if Ackleberry denizens were strong enough and they actually truly understood Taint, which was cut off from Kethuru after they disappeared from this reality (it's highly unlikely with all those lazy and dumb tae'dae's and furrikins ), they could reshape it and use it to their own advantage.
It's a nice theory, but Taint is meant to be bad/evil. If such thing happened, it would totally change the Basin. Celest and Serenwilde would lose their arguments. Would Magnagora still be anathema for them? Probably, but the reasoning would have to change. Hmm, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad thing. But it just doesn't fit in what's already here.
And about the whole snugliness. In histories, when Lolly (he's male, I was so surprised!) reached Ackleberry, he was snuggling one of the Tae'dae's. Was it retarded or silly? No, because it's not snuggling what's silly, it's the way people use it - completely random, way too often, and in no context at all. You can be snuggly and not silly at all, if you just do it sensibly (as much as I hate the word, maturely).
I believe that Ackleberry was just peaceful, and people there cared about each other, but it wasn't the snugglebunny paradise at all. Note that they were ready to fight in their forest's defence.

Where did you guys get the impression from reading the history that Lolly was a girl?
