I let him do it. What great revenge that is, eh?

You said that AFTER I posted it!

Edit: And Elryn, read the "sign up for the soulless game 6" thread, you might find it amusing. Depending on your sense of humour, of course.

Well if its just broken, then when they fix it, will probably check it again. Point stands though theres a way to check where the ghosts are, as opposed to the claims that there isnt.

I would like to know why it is possible for some people to have two demesnes.
One on astral, and one on prime.
I've seen this a couple of times, so I'm not imagining things.

I already explained this to you.
When you make a demesne that links across spheres, and then the spheres break apart, the demesne goes wacko and the code only recognizes the sphere that the center is on as being part of the demesne (effects and stuff don't even work off of it). So when I dissolve, it's only the part it recognizes as being my demesne that dissolves; in this case, the bit on Cancer, and the part on Scorpio stays but it doesn't really do anything - it still isn't really recognized as my demesne.

QUOTE(Elryn @ Jun 16 2005, 10:58 PM)
You do realize that the quest involves having to ROAM Glomdoring to find a random location?
Let's just review. We have four ways that I can think of to get into Glomdoring without dying instantly to guards. Teleport and tesseract require a willing stationary target... not going to happen. Spores require us to have already got in there somehow to steal/make them, or a foolish Glomdoring member to give them to us... again not going to happen. That leaves dreamweaving, which has SIGNIFICANT disadvantages but is possible. Of course if any Glomdoring member is actually watching the forest (which you would expect during open Faethorn), the equilibrium loss = instadeath.
Alright, so getting in is hard enough. What about moving around? Since you must be on the ground to find the item, and there are no longer any ways to avoid hostilities after movement, any Seren who has to search the Glomdoring has to contend with wisping, flowing, totems hitting at every step, and guards able to obliterate you at any moment.
I don't mind a quest being difficult, but that is insane.

Remember all those days when we had to raise Crow, and Seren could just IMMEDIATELY strike it down? >.>
And, you guys can flow about Faethorn. We caaan't.
You're right, it's extremely unbalanced, and should be changed. Eventually. You've managed to take Faethorn at least twice, irrelevant of the fact you have to go into Glom. Remember when we had to use the Ebonglom Wyrm to kill Marilynth, and it literally took days? Yea. If you can continously get Moon in control of the Faethorn, I see no reason to change it.
Ralshan2005-06-17 13:34:45
Yeah, if Moon actually, y'know, LOST Faethorn even once, your complaints that the quest is too hard might hold water. If the recent changes make it so that there's a CHANCE for you to fail, then that's a benefit over the previous situation.

Well, this might happen now. Serpent just got nerf'd.
Anyway, that's a political situation rather than one with the quest itself. Glomdoring has a definite advantage in the quest, but Serenwilde's military is strong enough to overcome it by comparison to Glomdoring's. They almost made it last time actually thanks to Magnagoran intervention (Daevos kept waiting until everyone but me was asleep and then coming in to kill Champions) but Serenwilde stuck at it and won out.

It wasn't a nerf. It was a bug fix. And be happy - now Ethelon and Daevos cannot abuse the same bugs Narsrim has been to kill our Champions.

Well, it was a nerf nonetheless. And uh, I wasn't condoning it in any way, I hated the damn thing. Still do, because it will still be a complete PAIN to try and fight Daevos with a load of Celestine newbies because he just serpents if he gets in trouble, sips up to max, and then starts pwning us one by one and there's sod all we can do about it.
This said, serpent was the only way we could get the freaking bird out of Glomdoring. Now it won't work (nearly as well).
Unknown2005-06-17 14:05:50
Fade serpent by using seize while standing outside of Glomdoring. Count to 6. Walk in.

Anyone forget that for us to get Fae we become enemied to Faethorn? So we can't even do the bloody quest if we helped raise Champions or anything else in Faethorn? Considering all the fighters in Glomdoring are enemied to Faethorn makes it hard on our side to do the quest.

Solution: The gathering fae thread in the Ideas Board?
Erion2005-06-17 19:03:58
Thank you, Vix. It's a fairly good idea Shiri had, IMO. I like it. It works.
