You find it difficult to put on sea-blue robes while wearing a honey brown
tunic embellished with gold thread.

Actually, no not really. I don't understand why you cannot wear any clothing underneath certain types of armor and great robes. Is there a reason for this?
Unknown2005-06-17 02:33:24
Probably because it would be harder to code something to prevent people from wearing multiple types of armor if greatrobes took some sort of "outer" slot.

While there is a clothing thread (pun not intended), I'd like to ask a question/post a mini-rant. I REALLY dislike seeing pieces of equipment (mostly clothing is guilty here) with COMMAS in their short desc. It seems like some people use them as an excuse to get longer short descs. Items in your inventory and worn are seperated by commas, why bother putting them in the short desc, you screw up what the inventory looks like!

A Divine word on this would be nice, having someone say this is/is not all right, and stopping the problem before it gets any worse... it looks horrible o.o

Please?

Also had a problem of having Elaria's underwear showign through chain mail leggings. Err... so to now have them showing through she should not wear underwear at all? Seems a bit contrary to the point there. This was an old problem though, don't know if it was fixed or not.

If you wear your panties outside your leggings, like Quailman wore them outside his pants...

Commas in short descs.. You mean, like "a pair of dark, shadowy panties"?

That's a bad thing how? biggrin.gif

Anyway, I've noticed something weird as well. Before I was able to wear my crown on top of my helm and whenever I did doff it would doff with my helm. But since I smelted my helm and got a new one, I'm unable to wear it on top of my crown, so I have to remove the helm, then wear the crown. But whenever I doff now, it defaults to the crown for doffing, not the helm. Really annoying. dry.gif

I really do think that you should be able to wear clothing under your greatrobes/armour...then the poor tailors would get more business. smile.gif

And I'm also a little annoyed at how you can't rub brooches with greatrobes. I have to take my robes off to use it so I always have to run away to an empty room. Aren't brooches supposed to be worn on top? What do I pin it to if you can't wear clothing under robes?
Athana2005-06-17 17:44:01
That's a bug Vix. but make sure you wear greatrobe THEN wear brooch
Vix2005-06-17 17:46:43
Ooh.

It shouldn't be hard at all. Set greatrobes and armor to have the armour flag, and then check if you're wearing armor. If you are, you can't wear another. If you're not, it goes into whatever clothing slot it normally would. Make greatrobes and armour worn under cloaks and coats, and over everything else. Jewelry goes on the outside. Why is that so difficult?
Unknown2005-06-19 03:25:42
Some jewelry doesn't go on the outside though. Well... nipple rings at least. Maybe there are some other types.
Athana2005-06-19 03:27:22
Yes, that's also a bit dumb..I can wear a midrif bearing shirt but people still can't see my navel ring sad.gif

I'm pretty sure armbands have to go under the armor.

Coat + Robes = Bad

Although, I have to agree with the sentiment that not all clothing is armor-exclusive, especially in the case of great robes.
Sylphas2005-06-19 09:37:12
Well, it's easy to just make them take the same slot. I'm just saying it should only take a simple boolean flag and one if check to get rid of the problem and make tailors a lot more attractive to the economy.

Exactly so. It's REALLY annoying. Pet hate you might say. Considering how commas seperate items in inventory you really have to wonder why commas are allowed in short descs. I hope someone will hear my plea for help and address this problem.

On the subject of helms, I had a helm forged for me recently (finally!). I wore it and forgot I was wearing it on top of a circlet. No biggie, although it must be pretty uncomfortable (or even impossible?). Although the helm would completely conceal the circlet. What do I doff? The circlet of course. Despite it being under the helm. I see.

Also Vestiphobia... two annoyances/bugs with this.

You can remove items from UNDER your clothing. Say you have robes and underwear... you can't remove the underwear without removing the robes first. BUT with Vestiphobia you can. I'd like to see that fixed...

And also the other bug... vestiphobia and piercings... well for one I think it probably shouldn't remove piercings... (but that's a matter of opinion) ...

...and secondly... if you have a piercing in your tongue that is removed by vestiphobia and you try to re-wear it in your tongue... it claims you are already wearing it in your tongue. PIERCINGS say it is a free slot, but you can't put that piercing back in that slot. You can fix this by wearing it in another slot, say your ear, then removing it, then putting it back in your tongue. Most peculiar!

The BUG command is your friend. If you haven't already, use it! And I agree that commas should be banned from short descriptions. Screws up people who reformat their inventory using a peculiar set of triggers and aliases to interact with individual items through a clickable list.
