A: It's not that bad. I've fought extensively as an enlarged Igasho, and never had problems with being "locked"
B: Ixion, why not diminish yourself? Narsrim took the time to get an enchantment for combat and it gave him an advantage because you weren't similarly prepared.

I already put in my two cents for the size bit... But Ceres... Thanks for pointing out that ignore function... That pic on the bottoms of your posts was doin somethin whicked wierd with my browser... prolly just cuz my comp need medication but, eh...
From what I've seen, Murphy usually acctually posts constructive comments, so I dun see why yer makin a fuss about him...
I think all races should be weighed more tward one thing than another, speed, tankiness, magic, whatever, rather than make all the races uniformly equal in most regards... It should be a hands down that the big strong races would make the kick ass warriors for their tankiness and strength, while the tiny races would be kick ass warriors for their speed, ability to dodge, and nimbleness.... It makes perfect RP sense... might be a bit of a to some people, but, eh, the term "nobody's perfect" comes to mind...

Oh, he posts constructively alright.
Just.. constructing towards overpowering himself.
I'm not sure if a non-combatant such as yourself can fully appreciate the ridiculousness of some of the suggestions he makes on a regular basis.

Just got back from a Driver's Ed course and why not make size affect how much alcohol is needed to get drunk?

I make suggestions to be discussed and the idea to be brought to light, not necessarily to be implemented.
And That is so rediculous hypocritial coming from you, who has always powergamed here from the beginning, has little to no RP and just buys the artifacts and goes to the guilds where you can be as overpowered as possible, to the point where now you just go to the last place that will have you, you even tried to get in to the ur'guard at one stage but that was shot down in flames by a lot of people.\\
Edit: With your lack of knowedge about combat, and finding someone else's cheap trick to whore out, and the fact you've bought a combat system which always managed to "break" whenever you lose, I'd be inclined to label you in the same category as a non-combatant.

As much as you might want to grief about Ceres, you don't have to be in the top tier of fighters to know that some of the things you post are really kind of thick. But whatever.

I post suggestions and ideas based on what invades my mind, sometimes i'm sarcastic and sometimes I'm drunk or tired, its not like your suggestions are always perfect either shiribot.
either way, they are ideas and mostly aren't thought out, and they are fine to be rejected or accept i dont mind
On that note, some of the things you say shiri are pretty stupid too

Size should be balanced on it's own right, not based on other statistics that happen to go with the big races/small races. Keep in mind that a Faeling Titan can change their size to 25 if they want to, the balance should be in the one stat it self, since there are so many things that can change size (the enchantments, that titan power, etc.)
With that in mind, I don't think it should be possible to permaweb with any possible size as your target, if the stun bit is true I don't think you should be able to permastun, etc. etc.

A: Me?
B: I know far more than you about combat
C: Cannibalize/toadcurse? Firstly, it can hardly be said to be any one person's, and secondly, it's the only way a shadowdancer can kill a knight, save for wisping into hexes/guards, which you would complain about just as much.
D: Never bought a combat system. Browsing over some logs, I've also noted that the only times it's "broken" were because of bugs with knighthood (such as partially damaged arms spontaneously appearing with no message when you're not even hitting them)
E: I am a non-combatant, recently. Been guildless for the last few weeks, and currently have 9 days left on my TDF and pacification, with 20 rolepoints still to regen.
On an extraneous note, I find you criticizing other's RP even more funny than Daganev doing it.

Honestly, some of Murphy's suggestions are over the top, but he has also made some good ones. Your posts, Ceres, however, I find them to be either heavily biased, sarcastic with nothing constructive, or trying to be witty one-liner. But that is just my OOC opinion based on what I read in the forums.
IC, I don't know you well enough to comment. But the level of roleplay points is a pretty good indication about a character's standard of roleplay, which in your case, gives us a clear idea.

Show me a biased post of mine and a valuable one of Murphy's?
I'm sarcastic when all else fails
I don't try to do anything, darling.
Rolepoints mean basically nothing to do with roleplay, the divine have even said that they're somewhat misnamed. My current punishment was due to my own absentmindedness, nothing more.
Terenas2005-06-23 18:40:39
I don't mean to flame Ceres, but I've known you in Achaea and here, and well, your character hasn't always been the epitome of RP virtue. I can't comment on whether or not you've bought other's combat systems, but I do recall you switching system when we sparred before. I had some respects for you before, but with all the stuffs that you constantly pull, with the last one abusing the arm balance bug to jab Ethelon 29 times in a row, I don't think you can manage anything else to make others despise you more.
Anyway, enough of my derailing. Size is a big factor right now, it would be great if the benefits and penalties due to size could be scaled down. Smaller sizes won't tumble/writhe as fast, larger sizes won't tumble/writhe as slow, etc.

Never bought a combat system? Why is it you tell me you use Thorgal's and you also told me you were waiting on his updates.
Not to mention your parry is very similiair to his, as is your curing.
And also, cannibalize/toadcurse isn't the only way to kill a warrior, Ethelon manages it and so does narsrim tuek, any good guardian fighter really, your comment on this just shows everyone how much you indeed know about combat, and reinforces my earlier statement regarding everyone's opinion of you as a fighter (Ie a bloody joke)
In reagrds to my RP, firstly at least I have some, secondly I chose my race for RP reasons AND stick to my guild for its RP moreso than its skills, that in itself is far FAR more than can be said for you, without even going into detail about my RP

A: That's okay. Neither have yours.
B: Buying something implies paying for it.
C: I overwrote my nature curse macro with "#10 jab @target" when Amaru and I were playing around. My failing to fix this is why I blamed the punishment on my absentmindedness, but I realise that I have no way to prove it as such.

A: I refer the right honourable gentleman to my previous answer.
B: It really was, for me.
C: I had neither the trans hexes of Ethelon, or the prospensity to wisp into choke/guards, or
D: Lash, as do Narsrim and Tuek.
E: The above explain my "comment on this". I would again remind you that I have both more knowledge of and skill at combat than your good self.
F: Again, nope. Before I blocked you, you were asking me for advice on whether to be X race every other day. I, too, chose my race for RP reasons. Changelings are fun! You remind me somewhat of a small boy, and in more than your grammar and spelling. You seem unwilling to flame me when you don't seem to think you'll have support. Grow up.

WTF is Roleplay Virtue?
Lusternia is very good at making it very hard NOT to RP. Infact they do such a good job that people don't even realize it.

Murphy leaves to the ether.
You step out of your defensive fighting stance.
The spectator stands of the Klangratch Tournies.
The corrosiveness of the taint sickens the land. The fossilized remains of
Karmiyn are here. Dreadlord Murphy, Warrior of Urlach is here. He wields a tormented spectre flail in each hand.
You see exits leading in and out.
The combat has been declared a draw and is over.
Murphy leaves to the ether.
You step out of your defensive fighting stance.
The spectator stands of the Klangratch Tournies.
Dreadlord Murphy Carthan, Warrior of Urlach is here, shrouded. He wields a kite shield in his left hand and a tormented spectre flail in his right.
You see exits leading in and out.
The combat has been declared a draw and is over.
Your aura of weapons rebounding disappears.
You grab Murphy by the back of the neck and pull him forward into an embrace.
You press your lips against his neck and hungrily suck the lifeforce from him.
A black shadow materialises in the air before you and then quickly strikes
Murphy.
As the last dregs of lifeforce are sucked out of Murphy, his eyes become glassy
and cold, staring off into the empty darkness of death.
You have slain Murphy.
Defeated, Murphy is cast out of the Arena.

You have been victorious and leave the Arena in triumph!
You step out of your defensive fighting stance.
You are blind and can see nothing but darkness.

In order to put the pathetic life of a warty toad out of its misery, you lift a
foot and bring it down mightily on its bloated green body.

warty toad.
A warty toad's back breaks under the weight of a heavy foot, its innards
spilling out and leaving a messy stain on the ground.

I consider it more mine than theirs after a year of independent development on both sides.
Murphy2005-06-24 00:44:39
Psh ceres, youre using someone elses system, don't mince words, its not more yours than theirs, you got his base system setup for curing which is the most important bit, the rest is just copy paste tweak.
As for your "rationale" all I see is excuses. Oh i don't have this, I don't have that. Oh waa I don't have allhex, boo hoo.
as for your logs, well ok I sparred you a few times when shadowdancers first came out, so I lost, so what?
Everyone knows that you run all the time in spars, and FFA's for that matter. In fact i remember on the test server all you DID was run when you were getting beaten, and you do it in live lusternia too.
Personally I prefer to stand my ground and fight, if I die well its the arena, who cares, its better to be known like that than to run all the time, which is all you seem to do, as many people will attest to.
I also remember you having a teary on the test server when I rezz killed you a few times, hell you even tried to issue me on there which I found hilarious, you need to get a grip on whats reality and what isn't.
And sorry but pooka/cannibalize is NOT the only way to kill a knight, you just lacked the skill and creativity to do so.
