Arg, but, topic. Are Fates bound to the Tapestry in the same way Supernals are bound to the Light. What really is Nil bound to, anyway? I mean, we're talking Light for Celestia, Chaos for Vortex, Order for Continuum... Nil? Taint? Very arbitrary thing, really. They still represent aspects of life - power, domination. Gluttony (Not necessarily food, but for material possessions), varying aspects of beauty.

And, just as a tangent. Taint doesn't change to poles - it just changes the aspect of something. Nifilhema is still beauty, but no longer physical beauty, but a darker, more sadistic, sensual beauty. Shrug.

As for the fates, they *chose* to live on Shallamar, it doesn't state anywhere they originated there. Eventually they left because the Neighbourhood was being ruined (they got new neighbours so to say) and chose to relocate somewhere else. They are not half-formed, and as such, they're free to move wherever they want, they're not tied to any concept any more then the Elders are.

Why does everyone insist on placing the Higher Beings into boxes? We don't go around putting mortals in boxes either.

As regards the whole evolution of the Fatalists/Nihilists, I'd imagine they served/worshipped the Fates but, as Kidaen said, the Fates didn't like the upcoming changes to the neighborhood (more likely they left due to the threat of Kethuru) and relocated elsewhere. That leaves the Fatalists with a whole lot of nothing to do, and a bunch of neat new changes to the Emanations to study. Over time they likely became bound to the Demon Lords due to the ability of the Demon Lords to pact with them in exchange for their vows to spread their ideals.

I don't smoke anything - I had gene therapy done so that I no longer produce sweat, but instead hallucinogens, which flow directly into my blood. Cuts out the need to smoke opium, since it's so expensive and all. I can recommend a good doctor skilled in this type of therapy, though. He also does Stem Cell research on his weekends - would you believe he also does cloning for me? I'm at like, four brain-cells now. It's REALLY cool.
