Dreamweaving changes

I know some of these have been suggested before, but this is my wishlist that I think would improve Dreamweaving, in order of importance:

1. The ability to use IH and PROBE.
2. The ability to create affective, custom dreams.
3. The ability to make either yourself or another less tired, for a cost of endurance.
4. The ability to drop non-flamed items from dreamform.
-
and for fun:
-
5. The ability to enter a dreamweaver-unique area.
6. The ability to summon a dream phantasm as a loyal.

What else would dreamers like to see?

-For link to actually work.

-To be able to see demesne watch while dreamweaving.

The dreamweaving mount sounds interesting too, any ideas on what it could do?

Phantom Steed: Travel 1 day per round.
Duration: Your caster level x2
Material components: horse hoof, diamond dust e....

Oh wait, Lusternia. Not D&D...

Maybe there could be different styles of dreamweaving pet that someone could use to vary things a bit. Just the same thing but looking different.

I don't know what it could do, I just thought it would be fun to have.

Um, how about once summoned it follows you in either dreamform or waking, but means you lose only half as much willpower as normal from dreamweaving while it is present. Oh, and it could do something interesting, like speed you to a sleeper instantly. Muahaha.

What would you want from a dream steed?
Kaervas2005-06-19 09:50:41
Something that let you gallop (the riding version of sprint) to move around in dreamform faster would be pretty useful. Or even gave a few extra rooms before the "Don't be so hasty" message.

Call me old-fashioned, but I'm still hoping dreamweavers someday get the ability to weave dreams.

Use hallucination motes?
Gwylifar2005-06-19 16:35:42
I had hoped from the name for a lot more than just that.

17) The ability to give items to a player, with or without their knowledge, while in dreamform.

18) The ability to look through a players inventory while in dreamform. (Reading letters you see?)

Not as much of a wishlist as ideas that could make sense...

And for everyone elses ideas: YES. YES, YES, AND MORE YES.

It works for me...

Ah, last time I did it there were messages saying YOU FOLLOW BLAHBLAH
but not always...
Unknown2005-06-19 19:39:12
Dyr tested link with me in the game.

It -does- work, however the dreamweaver -does not- get a message when you move anywhere so they can't tell anything happened. You have to sit there sending 'ql' every few seconds.

I bugged it, but at least it's usable.

The ability to weave dreams could come with a loyal that you summon from the dreamrelm. A dream wraith of some sorts. The creature could come depending on what type of mage you are. Meaning that it could take nexus power.

Magnagorans; Dream Wraith
Celestians: Dream Djinn
Serenwilders: Dream Satyre

soo..

DREAMWEAVE SUMMON

Duh, it summons your dream creature.

ORDER DREAMWEAVE

The wraiths, djinns and satyres could be invisible and revealed if someone invokes indigo or the highmagic equivilant

Just a combination of a few people's thoughts.

I have to agree with Gwylifar there, dreamweaving is light on dreaming, big on astral projection.

Hallucination motes are severely limited in length, they cost one power each to cast, they give a message before the dream hits, and they require you to follow your target around forever on the off chance they'll go to sleep while you're there. The length thing is the most annoying.

QUOTE
dreamcast hallucination richter You stand in the centre of a pristine glade, surrounded by ancient trees of unknowable age. The night sky glistens overhead and the entire grove is cast in an argent brilliance by the light of the shining Moon above. A noble stag steps out from the undergrowth, trotting towards you with regality exuding from every inch of his being.  He pauses to regard you with his unfathomable eyes, and a deep voice resonates in your mind. "Search for the truth of He that was once my Brother. The darkness shrouds but does not bind." He inclines his head to you, and you briefly feel the soft caress of grass against your cheek before your vision fades.

You declare your intent to bear arms against Richter.

You flick a flickering mote at Richter.
The mote sinks into his aura, which darkens with ugly splotches.
That hallucination is too complex and you fail to weave it successfully.

Is hallucination meant to be done while they are awake or asleep? My little dreamweaver alt is still learning and I haven't had a chance to test anything.

Yay for adept dreamweaving.
Elryn2005-06-20 02:20:32
Its a mote, so you can only cast it while they're asleep or have their aura punctured (which cannot be done from dreamform).
Munsia2005-06-20 02:33:24
Bwbettin: Link has NEVER shown if they move since it came out. If its a bug or not I'm not sure but just so ya know its never really worked.

A mount would be fun considering stags at the moment really suck...
and I would like 'not so much willpower to be taken!' Cuase I'm not sure if its just me but I lose willpower when im kether/violeted. *grumbles at gwylifars violet* that hurts!

Also just to do any real damage you would have to have level 3 eq to be able to move really fast since all the skills are pretty much slower then cudgel and an elfen without lightning. So that would be better upped..
Looking into peoples inventories when they are asleep maybe would be logical and fun without the cost of having to possess. also giving them items would be cool cuase I wanna possess someone and make em smoke da weed *eyeshift* muhahaha!

Whats with the entire everyone wanting to make custom dreams. Cuase youd really only be able to cast them on other people at that given time which is kinda boring but I guess at least its something to do but I'm sure if it was created it better be low willpower cuase thats a waste
Shamarah2005-06-20 10:30:03
Hallucination gives a message? Blah! Then make it not give a message or give us a dream-making skill.
