just curious about what you guys think is the best guardian race overall

defensive, I'd say Lucidian, offensive Aslaran (?) (for Nihilists and Celestines with Tarot)

for Moondancers, Mugwump?

Edit: really depends on what guardian class you want to be (or are) and what you want to do with your character (hunt or fight, be a good tank or better at the offensive etc.)

I mean super physical tanky, and wiccans get super magic reduction, dropping it to normal-ish levels.

yea but the whole 10 int things blows and ooh knowledge blessing 12 int....i am not seeing the greatness i mean viscanti got 14 con 15 int with blesing 17 seems like they the best ones to me.

The sip penalty really hurts, I came from Visc to Lobo, and I can tank way more as lobo, and the 12 int's bearable, if your an affliction class, ie, Guardian.

Want to kill big things real fast? Celestine merian.
Tired of big things killing YOU real fast? Loboshigaru or Taurian.
Want to be an effective PKer with Tarot? Aslaran.
Want to be an effective PKer with Hexes? Mugwump.
Want to be an effective PK-support Healer? Celestine merian or Moondancer Elfen.

Err.. sorry but Merian can't tank for s***
You can forget hunting Astral effectivly as a Celestine Merian and in pk you die as fast as a Faeling..

Want to be able to stand a chance against the big things, like tanking manifestations at 70.

Any Loboshigaru Wiccan has a chance there, actually, with use of putrefaction/numen/nightkiss.

Nightkiss defences are slightly sub-drawdown,
just so you know, to balance the lifedrain asphyxiation damage.

All righty reading these posts just reminded me how bland i was with the topic i guess it would make sense to tell ya what i want to do. I want to be able to bash astral and still be halfway decent at pking.

Mutually exclusive. We aren't warriors. We actually have to choose between dealing damage (int, eq bonus) and surviving a fight (con).

Guardians have a real hard time balancing it, Viscanti, in that case, is one of the betterer ones.
