Charisma is not about self worth or ego, it is about how much you can charm someone, so to speak.

If you ask any dating guide book, your ability to charm someone is highly depedant on your level of self confidence... I'm only repeating what Estarra told us in beta (about ego affecting charisma instead of the other way around bit, not the dating thing)...

quick and dumb question, does debating take balance or equilibrium?

Wrong Cron, Viravain was against the Taint, she was tainted but didnt recognise it, and Surveying the land is OOC information really.. you look at the RP of the place not what you want it to be, thats your peoples entire problem. You want to say Glomdoring is tainted because its what your own thick head tells you, you ignored what Glomdoring ITSELF said.

Surveying the land is OOC information? Since when?

Sure it's presented in a simplified format (something like, "You're standing in the Serenwilde forest", not "Hmmm... Hear that waterfall rumbling in the distance? And these are black oaks, not white oaks. We must be in the northern Serenwilde."), but it's still our characters figuring this stuff out with their skills.

The taint isn't even a quantified gradient like health or experience. The taint has a distinct existence. The taint simply is, like water or oxygen, and like them, it has very tangible effects on the IC world.

Wow, thankyou to whoever brought up this thread again.

I found it thoroughly fascinating to read through these arguments again at this particular point in time, and this is one of the best sets of arguments in the sense of not becoming too insulting and heated.

I do wonder what would have become of Gloriana if it had emerged as a darker incarnation of its previous self, where all the rest of Glomdoring was as it is now but for the existence of taint. Maybe the players couldn't have handled the roleplay enough to maintain a dark forest without the sledgehammer of taint to remind them, but then, even the tainted role seems to be causing unending trials to the poor players.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Chances are it'd be more successful than Glomdoring in its current state.

Simple. Get rid of Virvain, bring back another Creator, and have them do the job right this time with no Kethuru business. While I'm wishing for impossible things I'd like Night to be cleansed of the Taint and Crow transformed back into Raven.
